Raleigh, NC – April 8, 2011 — Triangle Conservatives Unite! (TCU) will be hosting their annual Tax Day Tea Party at the Raleigh State Capitol on April 15, 2011 from 5:00pm until 7:30pm.

Triangle Conservatives Unite! is a conservative group made up of NC citizens who are tired of overspending, unbalanced budgets and government corruption. The idea for the Tax Day Tea Party was popularized in 2009.  CNBC reporter Rick Santelli ranted about President Obama’s housing bailout plan. He stated that Chicago was holding a Tea Party, referring to the 1773 Boston Tea Party where colonial protesters dumped tea into the harbor to protest British taxes. Americans across the country responded to this “call to action” and Tea Parties have grown more popular each year.

Our Tea Party is sponsored by many conservative groups and businesses, including RUSH Radio 106.1.  Our keynote speaker is Jason Lewis, also known as “America’s Mr. Right,” Jason Lewis is host of the nationally syndicated Jason Lewis Show. The Jason Lewis Show deals with the serious issues of politics, economics, and cultural affairs, but Jason’s sense of humor brings a good deal of levity to the show.

There are a number of other speakers including organizers, club leaders, politicians and community activists.  The event will have a number of the clubs and groups who are sponsoring the event on-site.  This event is open to the public, no matter what their political affiliation is, all conservatives are invited to attend.   Please scroll down to see the full speaker/sponsor list.  Thank you.
