“It turns out that we’re still fighting the Cold War. And it turns out that the communists are winning.”

In this episode, we sit down with Liel Leibovitz, a senior writer for Tablet Magazine and host of the Unorthodox podcast. He’s the author of the popular Tablet essay, “The Turn: When I saw the left give up everything I believe in, I changed politically. You can, too.”

We discuss how he became “politically homeless,” the new illiberal reality we face, the growing atomization of the individual, and how society can rebuild from the bottom up.

Jeffrey Tucker: How the Working Class Was Betrayed By Lockdowns, Vaccine Mandates

“Many societies have been constructed around this idea of clean and unclean. That’s what we did. And it’s grim. It’s brutal. It’s anti-modern.”

At the Brownstone Institute’s inaugural conference in Hartford, Connecticut, we sat down with Brownstone founder and president Jeffrey Tucker to discuss vaccine mandates, the devastating consequences of lockdown policies, and his vision to create an intellectual sanctuary for free discussion and scientific inquiry.

“Shutting the schools, closing the churches, sending SWAT teams into rural Texas bars to arrest people for drinking beers—they did all these terrible things. But once they invested so heavily in this population-wide experiment all over the world, now you have a problem, right? Because you’ve got a ruling class that’s not going to admit error. So that’s when the lies began. And the lies have not stopped. We live in a world of lies,” Tucker says.

Biden Pick for Bank Regulator Proposed Fed Take Over Banking, Manipulate Stock Prices

By Petr Savb     November 9, 2021
In Saule Omarova’s world, America only really needs one bank—the Federal Reserve. Omarova, President Joe Biden’s nominee to be one of the top banking regulators, has proposed such drastic expansion of government control over finance that it’s leaving some experts scratching their heads over whether the administration is serious about her nomination.

VIDEO – MONOPOLY – WHO OWNS THE WORLD?

STORY AT-A-GLANCE

  • A handful of mega corporations — private investment companies — dominate every aspect of our lives; everything we eat, drink, wear or use in one way or another. These investment firms are so enormous, they control the money flow worldwide
  • While there appear to be hundreds of competing brands on the market, like Russian nesting dolls, larger parent companies own multiple smaller brands. In reality, all packaged food brands, for example, are owned by a dozen or so larger parent companies
  • These parent companies, in turn, are owned by shareholders, and the largest shareholders are the same in all of them: Vanguard and Blackrock
  • No matter what industry you look at, the top shareholders, and therefore decision makers, are the same: Vanguard, Blackrock, State Street and/or Berkshire Hathaway. In virtually every major company, you find these names among the top 10 institutional investors
  • These major investment firms are in turn owned by their own set of shareholders. One of the most amazing things about this scheme is that the institutional investors also own each other. They’re all shareholders in each other’s companies. At the very top are Vanguard and Blackrock. Blackrock’s largest shareholder is Vanguard, which does not disclose the identity of its shareholders due to its unique structure

Until recently, it appeared economic competition had been driving the rise and fall of small and large companies across the U.S. Supposedly, PepsiCo is Coca Cola’s competitor, Apple and Android vie for your loyalty and drug companies battle for your health care dollars. However, all of that turns out to be an illusion.

Since the mid-1970s, two corporations — Vanguard and Blackrock — have gobbled up most companies in the world, effectively destroying the competitive market on which America’s strength has rested, leaving only false appearances behind.

Indeed, the global economy may be the greatest illusionary trick ever pulled over the eyes of people around the world. To understand what’s really going on, watch Tim Gielen’s hour-long documentary, “MONOPOLY: Who Owns the World?” above.

MARK STEYN – BUSH RE-ENTERS THE ROOM

Bush Re-Enters the Room

by Mark Steyn
Twenty Years On
September 13, 2021

The official observances for the twentieth anniversary managed to be even more wretched and grotesque than I’d expected – the most obvious affront being Bush’s equivalence between the perpetrators of 9/11 and the “perpetrators” of 1/6: They were both “children of the same foul spirit”, he declared, diminishing the three thousand victims of the former by comparing them to a congressman who had to hide in the stationery cupboard because some goofball was taking selfies with his feet up on the desk.

Twenty years ago, the forty-third president’s entire executive branch totally failed the nation. Sample quote from page 184 of America Alone:

FAA Command Center: “Do we want to think about scrambling aircraft?”

FAA Headquarters: “God, I don’t know.”

FAA Command Center: “That’s a decision somebody’s going to have to make, probably in the next ten minutes.”

FAA Headquarters: “You know, everybody just left the room.”

“Everybody just left the room”: Your federal government in action. Under Bush, no one paid a price for it: That’s your “foul spirit” right there, Pericles. It will be the same when the Chinese yank the rug out from under the dollar: Everybody just left the room – at the White House, at the Fed, at the Treasury …but not at the IRS, where they’re still hard at it freezing the savings accounts of January insurrectionists’ nine-year-old grandkids.

BIDEN HAD OPTIONS IN AFGHANISTAN

President Biden had options

August 23, 2021   By Clifford D. May      Clifford D. May is founder and president of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD) and a columnist for the Washington Times. Follow him on Twitter @CliffordDMay. FDD is a nonpartisan think tank focused on foreign policy and national security issues.

You don’t need to be a brilliant geopolitical strategist to understand that the United States should be the best friend – and the worst enemy – any nation could have. Following the events of recent days, the U.S. will be perceived differently: “harmless as an enemy but treacherous as a friend.”

Many politicians and diplomats share blame for this outcome, as do those deep thinkers who fancy themselves proponents of “responsible statecraft,” based on the dangerous fiction that “forever wars” end once Americans stop fighting them.

But since the buck stops in the Oval Office, history will most vividly remember the terrible decisions President Biden made in the months leading up to the 20th anniversary of the most catastrophic terrorist attacks ever on American soil.

The commander in chief had options. None were good. Least bad would have been to continue to frustrate the ambitions of the Taliban and al Qaeda, which also would have ensured that Afghans in Kabul and other cities would retain a measure of freedom and security. That would have required leaving a small residual force in Afghanistan, a force that would train, advise, and assist – not engage in direct ground combat.
