I went to Harris Teeter today and while they are asking customers if they want to round up to support Hurricane Helen victims, the money goes to the Red Cross. I did a bit of research, knowing what I do about the Red Cross. The irony is Red Cross is a FEMA partner and partially responsible for FEMA not having funds to support Hurricane Helen relief.The House Oversight Committee opened a probe in May to look into FEMA’s misuse of funds to “incentivize illegal immigration. The Red Cross is identified as a facilitator. In the above report: A recent media report outlines how the American Red Cross is contributing to—not helping to alleviate—illegal immigration. In addition to the American Red Cross working to facilitate migrants’ journeys to the southwest border, a DHS Office of Inspector General (OIG) report questions FEMA’s oversight of EFSP reimbursements in general.
SAMARITAN’S PURSE – DISASTER RELIEF FOR HURRICANE HELENE

Helene tore through western North Carolina, dumping extreme rainfall (up to 2 feet) and causing terrible flash flooding. Some parts of the area are in ruins. We are providing relief in the mountains of Watauga County, North Carolina—home to Samaritan’s Purse international headquarters in the town of Boone. The town and surrounding communities have been particularly hard-hit with toppled trees, flooding, road damage, and a lack of power and water. This response extends to include neighboring counties in North Carolina (Ashe, Avery) and eastern Tennessee (Johnson), and our church base is Alliance Bible Fellowship in Boone.
Southwest of Boone, rivers also raged outside their banks causing widespread destruction in the Asheville, North Carolina, area. Long stretches of interstate artery I-40 are shut down, after sections washed out. Our response there is focused on Buncombe County, which includes Asheville, Black Mountain, Montreat, and Swannanoa. Our base is the Billy Graham Training Center at The Cove
Samaritan’s Purse mobilizes staff and equipment and enlists thousands of volunteers to provide emergency aid to victims of tornadoes, hurricanes, wildfires, floods, and other natural disasters in the United States. We often stay behind after our initial response to rebuild or restore houses for needy families

QUESTION: How does the Revenue for the NGO the Catholic Charities nearly quadruple since the Biden Administration took over? In 2018 the Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Galveston only brought in $44 million In 2021. the revenue for NGO blossomed to $217 million.

Profiles of Valor: The Last D-Day Vets Standing

Thursday of this week, June 6th, 2024, marks the 80th anniversary of the Allied invasion of Europe at Normandy, D-Day. The photos of the few Veterans who remain and were able to return to the beaches where so many friends were lost are inspiring. They embody the American Spirit of their Greatest Generation, many of whom I have featured in Profiles of Valor over the years. (See photos here.)
They are the last of the D-Day Vets standing — fewer than 200 remain, and their average age is over 100. It is fitting that D-Day follows close behind Memorial Day as a visceral reminder of enormous sacrifice.
A total of 66 Veterans are expected to return for the week-long observance, the youngest being 95 and the oldest 107. The fitting commemorative events are outlined in a 30-page program of activities along the 50-mile stretch of beaches. They include various reenactments, airborne parachute jumps, military convoys, and parades and ceremonies featuring dignitaries from around the world.
Kathryn and Don Edwards, who operate Best Defense Foundation, arranged travel and accommodations for many of those returning. Kathryn says, “This is going to be the last hurrah,” and her mission is to ensure that these Vets and their families “know what they did is still respected and honored.” Also, a note of appreciation here for American Airlines, which not only provided Veteran transportation for this anniversary event but also provides transportation at no charge for all our nation’s Medal of Honor recipients every day of the year.
One of those returning, Californian Bill Becker, was warmed by the welcome he and the other Vets received at Deauville, Normandy: “These people love us so much. It’s overwhelming. I made it.” And indeed, they do love these Americans. There is not a native French resident in the area who does not have a family connection and survival story from this dark period of history. Bill adds: “I feel very good that we did something to help win the war. We did something in this world that made it better.” And at a great cost.

. As you know, the entire southern region for many miles beyond Gaza had to be evacuated NOW, and that entire population of Jews fled without even a toothbrush. They have been taken in mainly by several of the Kibbutzes in other parts of Israel, and those Kibbutzes are in desperate need of resources to feed and clothe these large numbers of sudden and unexpected guests. One of our relatives has a relative on Zichron Yaakov, knows that any funds will be spent exactly as expected (to feed, clothe, and support the refugees), so if you are looking for a worthy and secure place to make a donation, I do believe that this is a worthy place.

This is part of the Cloward/Piven Strategy – overwhelm the system until it collapses and then rebuild it the way you want it to be which is Socialism – which is the first step to Communism. All this will be accomplished on the American taxpayers’ dime. We will be paying for these illegals to be fed, housed, educated, and given medical coverage. Arrests at the Southwest border of migrants from China, India and other distant countries have tripled

Hundreds of thousands of migrants from all over the world are making their way to the Southwest border, with U.S. and Mexican authorities reporting a surge in apprehensions of people from Asia and Africa as human smuggling networks widen their reach across the globe.
Arrests at the Southwest border of migrants from China, India and other distant countries, including Mauritania and Senegal, tripled to 214,000 during the fiscal year that ended in September from 70,000 in the previous fiscal year, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection data. Fewer than 19,000 migrants from Asia and Africa were apprehended in the fiscal year ended September 2021.
“The increase in migration from Asia and Africa is remarkable,” said Enrique Lucero, head of the migrant support unit of the Tijuana city government, across from San Diego. “These days, we are dealing with 120 nationalities and 60 different languages.”
