UNDERSTANDING THE MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD MOVEMENT IN AMERICA – JOHN GUANDOLO

On Tuesday, April 22, 2014, John Guandolo, one of the top terrorism experts in the United States, was the guest speaker at the ICON Lecture Series in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. John Guandolo provides analysis, factual data, training and education to local, state and national leaders about threats to the United States, particularly from the global Islamic movement.

His background includes: Naval Academy Graduate (1989), Marine Corps, Ranger School graduate, and FBI Special Agent. He created the first Counter-terrorism training program in the U.S. government in 2006 detailing the Muslim Brotherhood threat and was also a Strategic Analyst for the Department of Defense, Instructor at the U.S. Army War College and Joint Forces Staff College.

He is the author of “Raising a Jihadi Generation: Understanding the Muslim Movement in America” (2013) and coauthor of “Shariah: The Threat to America” (2010).

According to John, the jihadi network in the U.S. is made up of a number of different organizations.C.A.I.R. (The Council on American-Islamic Relations) is prominent because they promote themselves as a civil rights organization when in fact, they are a Hamas entity.Here’s how John described their formation:

The Muslim Brotherhood came to the U.S. in the 1960’s.Since the early 1990’s, their network has expanded.On order from the International Muslim Brotherhood, all Muslim Brotherhood infected countries (over 100 countries today) were ordered to create Palestine committees to raise money, recruits and create propaganda for Hamas.Out of this strategy came the founding of the Holy Land Foundation. Over the last several years, the presence of Muslim Brotherhood (MB) operatives working inside the federal government advising our senior leaders has been definitively documented. This penetration of our system is shocking and constitutes an immediate danger for American citizens. In 2006, Mr. Guandolo created and implemented the FBI’s first Counterterrorism Training/Education Program focusing on the Muslim Brotherhood and their subversive movement in the United States: Islamic Doctrine, and the global Islamic Movement. He was designated a “Subject Matter Expert” by FBI Headquarters. This course was hailed as “groundbreaking” by the FBI’s Executive Assistant Director in a brief to the Vice President’s National Security Staff. For his efforts, in 2007 Mr. Guandolo was presented the “Defender of the Homeland” Award by U.S. Senators John Kyl and Joseph Lieberman on behalf of the Center for Security Policy in Washington, D.C. While in the FBI, Mr. Guandolo received two (2) United States Attorney’s Awards for Investigative Excellence.
