PHOTOS: 13 HOURS IN BENGHAZI – KRIS PARONTO
Kris Paronto, one of the survivors of the attack on the U.S. Special MIssion in Benghazi on September 11, 2012 was the guest speaker in an event entitled “What Really Happened in Benghazi”. The event was sponsored by the Chatham County Republican Party and took place at Fearrington Village, in North Carolina on Tuesday, October 6, 2015.
Kris Paronto is a former Army Ranger from 2nd Battalion 75th Regiment and a private security contractor who has deployed throughout South and Central America, the Middle East and North Africa. He also worked with the U.S. Government’s Global Response Staff conducting low-profile security in high-threat environments throughout the world. Mr. Paronto was part of the CIA annex security team that responded to the terrorist attack on the U.S. Special Mission in Benghazi, Libya, helping to save over 20 lives while fighting off terrorists from the CIA Annex for over 13 hours. Mr. Paronto’s story is told in the book “13 Hours” written by Mitchell Zuckoff along with his five surviving annex security team members. Kris gave an intense and detailed accounting of the events of that fateful long night of 13 hours of fighting off the terrorists to a packed audience which gave him a standing ovation at the end of the evening. Kris and his fellow survivors of that attack are our country’s heroes and we owe a debt of gratitude to every one of those brave men.
