Video: Terror threats are ‘blinking red lights everywhere,’ FBI director says

Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Christopher Wray told the United States Senate Judiciary Committee Tuesday that he sees “blinking red lights everywhere” regarding the unprecedented threat of terrorist attacks since the start of the war between Israel and Hamas terrorists in October.
During Tuesday’s hearing, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) asked the FBI director to provide his analysis on the “threat matrix” currently facing the United States, according to Fox News.
Wray testified, “What I would say that is unique about the environment that we’re in right now in my career is that while there may have been times over the years where individual threats could have been higher here or there than where they may be right now, I’ve never seen a time where all the threats or so many of the threats are all elevated, all at exactly the same time.”
In response to Wray’s assessment, the South Carolina senator referenced the “red lights analogy” regarding the 9/11 terrorist attacks. “All the lights were blinking red before 9/11, apparently,” Graham said. “Obviously, all of us missed it.”

Caroline Glick was born in Chicago and made aliya to Israel in 1991, after receiving her BA in Political Science from Columbia University. She joined the IDF that summer and served as an officer for more than five years. As an IDF captain from 1994 to 1996, she served as coordinator of negotiations with the PLO in the office of the Coordinator of Government Activities in Judea, Samaria and Gaza. After leaving the IDF at the end of 1996, she worked as the assistant to the director general of the Israel Antiquities Authority. She then returned to geo-politics serving as assistant foreign policy advisor to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu from 1997 to1998.
From 1998 to 2000, Caroline went back to the US where she received a Master’s degree in Public Policy from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government in June 2000. In the summer of 2000 she returned to Israel and began writing at the Hebrew newspaper Makor Rishon; she served as chief diplomatic commentator and edited magazine supplements on strategic issues for Makor Rishon until March 2002. In March 2002, she accepted the position of deputy managing editor of The Jerusalem Post.

The accounting disaster is a reflection of layers of bureaucratic incompetence which are undermining and crippling American national security.
The new audit report about the Department of Defense is another signal that the Pentagon needs reform a lot more than it needs extra money. As the Hill reports, “1,600 auditors combed through DOD’s $3.8 trillion in assets and $4 trillion in liabilities, conducting some 700 site visits.”
Defense, like all government agencies, has to submit to mandatory audits, thanks to reforms passed in the early 1990s. The auditors “found that half of DOD’s assets can’t be accounted for,” the Hill adds.
Think of that statement for a minute. An estimated $1.9 trillion in defense assets can’t be accounted for. How much confidence can we have in a Department of Defense which can’t keep track of trillions of dollars’ worth of equipment and other assets?
The breadth of the Defense Department failure is astounding. There are 29 separate audits in the department. Comptroller Mike McCord says only seven passed. Four were conditional, and 18 audits completely failed.

Many brilliant companies – from Apple to Starbucks – have been founded in the United States, starting out as small ventures to become international leaders in their fields. However, the world of business isn’t always as straightforward as it looks. Regardless of how well-rooted a company’s American history is, it doesn’t mean that it will always belong to Uncle Sam.
In fact, many quintessentially American brands are no longer American-owned at all. From Ben and Jerry’s to IBM and Holiday Inn, overseas investors have played a big part in keeping these companies moving forward. Without them stepping in, some of them may have ceased to exist altogether.
