VIDEO – INTEGRATION AND DEARBORN, MICHIGAN

Thanks to Sandra Sauer-Bernard of Virginia for sharing  this video of what has happened to Dearborn, Michigan.
NOTE:    I  grew up in a town in Pennsylvania  near Pittsburgh of about 25,000 people.  The town was a mix of Italians, Czechs, Sovaks, Germans, Christian Syrians, Jewish people and many  other ethnic backgrounds. The earlier settlers of  the town had been in this country since the 1700 and 1800’s.  Many of the later arrivals had arrived in the late 1800’s to the 1940’s when refugees from Europe arrived at the end of the Second World War.  We also had a few black families.  We all went to school together (some went to Catholic Schools until high school).   The point is we all considered ourselves Americans and we all got along just fine. There was prayer in the schools every morning, the pledge of allegiance to the flag, respect for the law and Christmas and Easter were celebrated.  Every year we all looked forward to the Christmas play with Mary, Joseph and Jesus and “Christmas Vacation”.   I imagine many of you of a “certain age” experienced the same thing as you were growing up all over America.
Our generation has seen tremendous change in this country and I am sorry to say it is not a change for the better.    As you view the video below, it is obvious that integration is not working anymore.    Nancy
