Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, the latest star of the Democrat effort to undo the 2016 election, is still at work on the National Security Council. While Trump supporters on the NSC like Rich Higgins and Ezra Cohen-Watnick were forced out, Vindman won’t be. NSC staffers who criticized Obama holdovers or sought to expose their misbehavior are gone, but Vindman is still there while undermining Trump.
And that’s the SNAFU of things on the NSC.
The National Security Council has been ground zero in the campaign against President Trump from the beginning. General Flynn’s appointment as National Security Advisor had touched the third rail because the NSC had been used to coordinate anti-Trump operations in the Susan Rice era.
The NSC doesn’t answer to Congress. Its members are meant to advise the president. (Except when they’re actually working for a previous president.) They command the implements of foreign policy, traditionally the weakest element in domestic politics, but not when they start treating their domestic political opponents as agents of a foreign state. And the size of the NSC has gotten out of control.
Under Obama, the NSC staff hit 400 people. That’s up from a dozen during its Cold War origins.
And it’s the staff that’s the problem.

Flynn Turns Tables on Prosecutors in Major Legal Blitz

Attorneys for former national security adviser Michael Flynn launched a major legal challenge in his perjury case on Aug. 30, by seeking a contempt citation against the prosecutors for hiding exculpatory evidence.
The attorneys allege Flynn was targeted for selective prosecution based on illegal surveillance and claim that the office of the special counsel extorted the guilty plea from Flynn.
Sidney Powell, Flynn’s attorney, filed the paperwork for the motions two months after taking over as the defense counsel on the case, replacing the team that Flynn fired in June. Powell, a vociferous critic of government prosecutors, confirmed to The Epoch Times that she ultimately seeks for the case to be dismissed and for Flynn to be exonerated.
The 14-page filing represents the most significant development in Flynn’s case since he pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI more than a year ago. Flynn has postponed his sentencing since the guilty plea in order to complete his cooperation with government investigators, including then-special counsel Robert Mueller.
Should the judge side with Flynn on any of the requests, the repercussions would likely expand beyond Flynn’s case, since the defense is demanding for the prosecution to hand over evidence long shielded by the government. These documents—some which have been long withheld, while others are partly redacted—would shed light on the broader special counsel investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 elections, as well as the FBI counterintelligence probe from which it evolved.

A sea change is coming to American foreign policy, and the adherents of the old, multiply failed policies of appeasement and willful ignorance that the Obama administration implemented energetically are desperate to retain power. Accordingly, they’ve launched yet another smear campaign against a Trump appointee who doesn’t represent the swamp point of view: the abundantly qualified and clear-sighted Fred Fleitz, John Bolton’s new chief of staff.
The campaign consists of the usual half-truths, smears, ad hominem attacks and outright lies. Well, all this has always worked before.

Organizations and individuals entrenched in the Obama administration’s pro-Iran echo chamber are engaging in a new plot to defame top White House national security officials, a campaign that mirrors a successful effort by these same groups to oust former Trump administration National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, according to sources familiar with the new effort.
After targeting Flynn, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and former senior Trump adviser Sebastian Gorka, organizations closely tied to the Obama administration are setting their sites on National Security Adviser John Bolton and his newly formed team.
Recent attacks by groups such as the Council on American-Islamic Relations, or CAIR, and the Southern Poverty Law Center, or SPLC, have centered on Fred Fleitz, a former CIA analyst who was recently tapped by Bolton to serve as his chief of staff on the White House National Security Council.
Activists from CAIR, the SPLC, and the Anti-Defamation League, or ADL—a civil rights organization currently helmed by a former Obama administration official—are engaged in a coordinated campaign to smear Fleitz and force his ouster from the NSC. The smears have been picked up by sympathetic media outlets who worked closely with these groups while the Obama administration’s so-called “echo chamber” was running at full steam, sources said.

Insiders reveal how secret data manipulated for political gain

They wanted him dead.
For years, a clandestine U.S. intelligence team had tracked a man they knew was high in the leadership of al Qaeda — an operative some believed had a hand in plotting the gruesome 2009 suicide attack in Afghanistan that killed seven CIA officers.
Their pursuit was personal, and by early 2014, according to a source directly involved in the operation, the agency had the target under tight drone surveillance. “We literally had a bead on this guy’s head and just needed authorization from Washington to pull the trigger,” said the source.
Then something unexpected happened. While agents waited for the green light, the al Qaedaoperative’s name, as well as information about the CIA’s classified surveillance and plan to kill him in Pakistan, suddenly appeared in the U.S. press.
Abdullah al-Shami, it turned out, was an American citizen, and President Obama and his national security advisers were torn over whether the benefits of killing him would outweigh the political and civil liberties backlash that was sure to follow.
In interviews with several current and former officials, the al-Shami case was cited as an example of what critics say was the Obama White House’s troublesome tendency to mishandle some of the nation’s most delicate intelligence — especially regarding the Middle East — by leaking classified information in an attempt to sway public opinion on sensitive matters.
By the end of Mr. Obama’s second term, according to sources who spoke anonymously with The Washington Times, the practices of leaking, ignoring and twisting intelligence for political gain were ingrained in how the administration conducted national security policy.
Those criticisms have resurfaced in the debate over whether overall intelligence fumbling by the Obama White House in its final months may have amplified the damage wrought by suspected Russian meddling in the U.S. presidential election last year.
On repeated occasions during the Obama era, high-level sources and some lawmakers lamented to The Washington Times, the president’s inner circle ignored classified briefings and twisted intelligence to fit political goals. Long before Donald Trump appeared on the White House campaign scene, many pointed to an incident during the 2012 election cycle as the most dramatic evidence of how that approach affected the handling of national security threats.

Mueller, the Justice Department and the FBI aren’t helping the lawmakers’ probe.

EXCERPT FROM THIS ARTICLE: Some want Attorney General Jeff Sessions to clean house, although this would require firing a huge number of career Justice Department lawyers. Some want Mr. Trump to fire Mr. Mueller—which would be counterproductive. Some have called for a special counsel to investigate the special counsel, but that way lies infinite regress.There is a better, more transparent way. Mr. Sessions (or maybe even Mr. Trump) is within rights to create a short-term position for an official whose only job is to ensure Justice Department and FBI compliance with congressional oversight. This person needs to be a straight shooter and versed in law enforcement, but with no history at or substantial ties to the Justice Department or FBI.
The media echo chamber spent the week speculating about whether Special Counsel Robert Mueller can or will nab President Trump on obstruction-of-justice charges. All the while it continues to ignore Washington’s most obvious obstruction—the coordinated effort to thwart congressional probes of the role law enforcement played in the 2016 election.

Hackers Substitute Porn on ISIS Sites

porn on encrypted message sites used by Islamic State’s ‘news agency’ Amaq.
The hacks are meant to disrupt the flow of communication between ISIS jihadis by creating havoc in the organization and mistrust of supporters for each other.
“Our intention was to flood the market with fake Amaq content in order to dilute the credibility of Amaq – a so-called news agency,” one of the anonymous hacker told Newsweek.
The hackers call themselves Daeshgram, a play on the name of the encrypted messaging application Telegram that is favored by ISIS supporters. “Daesh” is an derogatory acronym in Arabic used to refer to ISIS.

National Security adviser H.R. McMaster fired Rich Higgins, an Army veteran and former national security surrogate for Trump, on July 21 for a memo he claims captured the unprecedented cultural and ideological threats meant to undermine President Donald Trump’s governance.
When Ezra Cohen from the National Security Council was fired a week later,Higgins’ memo and the back-to-back firings sparked instant intrigue on social media. “Meet The Press” host Chuck Todd invited McMaster to do an interview about Higgins’ firing in August, and both men called into question Higgins’ work and reputation.
Since then, Higgins reports that he has had no explanation for the transpired events, saying “I’m still waiting for Chuck Todd to give me a phone call” to explain what really happened, he says in this exclusive interview with The Daily Caller News Foundation. Higgins also claims that no mainstream reporter will contact him, further confirming the total corruption of the fourth estate that is deceiving the American people.
Higgins explains that what America is experiencing is far beyond any normal politics. As a military strategic planner, the venom, vitriol and barrage of narratives directed by the media and cultural elites at a duly-elected president can be seen in an ideological light. Higgins explains that the “nature of the president’s election informed the reaction to his assumption of power.”
Globalists and those who prefer international governance to constitutional are repelled by the notion of national sovereignty and American interests. Trump’s campaign refrain to “build a wall,” Higgins explains, was a clever boiling down of sovereignty to the natural need for a nation to enforce and have borders.
He says he was fired for remaining based in reality and not succumbing to the politically correct, multicultural self-delusion popular in the governing elite.
