Diversity Executives – The U.S. Version of Soviet Political Commissars

In the thrilling submarine movie, The Hunt for Red October, the authority of Russian sub captain Sean Connery is challenged by the political officer whose job is to ensure that the sub is run in accordance with Soviet party ideology. The man’s interference becomes so aggravating that Connery’s character kills him. We are facing a similar threat from a mountain of diversity executives.

Employing significant numbers of diversity executives is all the rage. The average university, for example, now has 45.1 people dedicated to promoting diversity on campus. The University of Michigan has a whopping 163 diversity officers. That’s 2.3 diversity officers for every one member of its history faculty. Is it any wonder that college tuition has skyrocketed?

A political commissar or political officer is responsible for ideological conformity in military units to ensure party control of the unit. Political commissars were heavily used in the Soviet Red Army, as well as in the armed forces of Nazi Germany. The U.S. can now be added to the list.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) executives — our political commissars — are tasked with enforcing leftist policies in corporations, universities, and government agencies. They do not contribute to the competent functioning of those institutions and in fact may detract from their profitability and efficiency.

A recent example is Stanford Law School, where the school’s diversity, equity, and inclusion dean, Tirien A. Steinbach, encouraged students to prevent a federal judge from speaking at a university function. Court of Appeals Judge Stuart Kyle Duncan was invited by the student chapter of the conservative Federalist Society to address the student body at the prestigious law school. The judge was targeted by a group of leftist students because of his ruling on a transgender pedophile in 2020, where he refused to allow her bid to get her name changed. The protestors claimed the judge had committed crimes against women, gays, blacks, and trans people.

Duncan was repeatedly shouted down and drowned out by the angry students who screamed that they hoped Duncan’s daughters would be raped. He was unable to give his prepared remarks. The behavior of the protesting students was a clear violation of the school’s free speech policy.

Adding to the insanity was an impromptu lecture by Steinbach. Instead of calming the students down, the diversity executive piously lectured Judge Duncan for six minutes. She asserted that free speech did not justify giving Duncan a platform and scolded him for doing “harm” with his rulings. Steinbach deliberately subverted a critical takeaway for law students, namely learning how to be aware of opposing points of view. This does not bode well for the kind of lawyers that Stanford is turning out.

Former President Trump Remarks at CPAC 2023

2024 Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump spoke at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in National Harbor, Maryland. He declared that he will “totally obliterate the deep state,” if elected president again, saying, “I am your warrior, I am your justice, and for those who have been wronged and betrayed, I am your retribution.” The former president also distinguished himself from other Republicans, saying, “we are never going back to the party of Paul Ryan, Karl Rove, and Jeb Bush,” and discussed his policy agenda.

Victor Davis Hanson: The Chinese Spy Balloon, Orwellian Newspeak, and the Top-Down Revolution Engulfing America

American Thought Leaders

AMERICAN THOUGHT LEADERS

JAN JEKIELEK

“I’m just bewildered that these two evil regimes are so asymmetrically treated as we saw with the balloon … Had Russia done that, we would have shot that down the moment it got near the Aleutians,” says Victor Davis Hanson, a classicist, military historian, and author of a number of best-selling books, including most recently “The Dying Citizen.”

In this broad-ranging interview, we discuss the Chinese spy balloon, Orwellian newspeak, and the woke revolution he sees gripping America.

“When they were trapped about the balloon, the new Soviet talking point came: ‘Balloons came in during Trump. Trump ignored them. Trump ignored balloons.’ And that talking point, it was sort of like the old Roman maxim that a lie travels around the world before the truth can catch up. And that’s how they operate.”

Unlike the protests of the 1960s, this current woke revolution “was staged from the top,” Hanson says. “The left was not marching on the Pentagon. The left was not marching on the campus administrator. The left was not marching on Anaconda Copper or I.T.T. as they had been. They were inside the boardroom. They were inside the president’s office. They were inside the FBI. They were inside the CIA. They were inside the Pentagon.”

Ultimately, we are witnessing the unraveling of Western civilization, Hanson says.

“It’s actually an attack on meritocracy, and the whole empirical system of hiring the most qualified better person for the stability and success of society … Where this ultimately goes … it means that, as you see in Cuba or Venezuela or Colombia, very successful societies start to break down and they can’t deliver the essentials of life because they have a commissariat, a commissar system of ideology trumping empiricism,” Hanson says.

OUR MILITARY – CAN IT DEFEND US ?

Monday, February 20th, 2023
This is a very sobering analysis of our country’s military preparedness.  Nancy
  1. Manufacturing victory
US Grand Strategy Requires an Industrial Revival
By Sean Durns   February 10, 2023

There is good news and bad news in American foreign policy . The bad news first: The country’s defense industrial base is hollowed out, leaving the United States without the weapons that it would need in future conflicts and barely able to maintain a precarious peace in the near term.

The good news: The problem is fixable, and doing so would not only strengthen America’s defenses but boost the economy by creating durable jobs.

On all fronts, in other words, America would stop writing checks it can’t cash.

We simply don’t have the industrial capacity to maintain our current policy menu indefinitely, which includes aiding Ukraine in its war against Russian aggression and boosting Taiwan to forestall an invasion from China.

Indeed, a new report by the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a think tank in Washington, D.C., detailed the challenges facing the defense industrial base. That study , titled “Empty Bins in a Wartime Environment,” concluded that “in the event of a major regional conflict — such as war with China in the Taiwan Strait — the U.S. use of munitions would likely exceed the current stockpiles of the U.S. Department of Defense.”

Some of the report’s findings are bleak.

HOW AMERICA TOOK OUT THE NORD STREAM PIPELINE

Monday, February 13th, 2023

Seymour Hersh is arguably one of the last remaining relentless American investigative journalists. With a warrior spirit, he has a long history of breaking open some of the most important, carefully sourced investigations of the repeated malfeasance of the US Imperial Administrative State and its’ intelligence and military crimes. The very names associated with his journalistic revelations are historic. My Lai. Abu Ghraib. The list of his breaking stories which blew the cover on US Government misdeeds is enormous. This guy is a national treasure. And now he has ferreted out the details and spoken the truth which all who are politically astute knew but none could speak for fear of retaliation by the CIA and captured global media. But here it is, yet another story of illegal activities.

How America Took Out The Nord Stream Pipeline

The New York Times called it a “mystery,” but the United States executed a covert sea operation that was kept secret—until now

The U.S. Navy’s Diving and Salvage Center can be found in a location as obscure as its name—down what was once a country lane in rural Panama City, a now-booming resort city in the southwestern panhandle of Florida, 70 miles south of the Alabama border. The center’s complex is as nondescript as its location—a drab concrete post-World War II structure that has the look of a vocational high school on the west side of Chicago. A coin-operated laundromat and a dance school are across what is now a four-lane road.

The center has been training highly skilled deep-water divers for decades who, once assigned to American military units worldwide, are capable of technical diving to do the good—using C4 explosives to clear harbors and beaches of debris and unexploded ordinance—as well as the bad, like blowing up foreign oil rigs, fouling intake valves for undersea power plants, destroying locks on crucial shipping canals. The Panama City center, which boasts the second largest indoor pool in America, was the perfect place to recruit the best, and most taciturn, graduates of the diving school who successfully did last summer what they had been authorized to do 260 feet under the surface of the Baltic Sea.

Last June, the Navy divers, operating under the cover of a widely publicized mid-summer NATO exercise known as BALTOPS 22, planted the remotely triggered explosives that, three months later, destroyed three of the four Nord Stream pipelines, according to a source with direct knowledge of the operational planning.

Two of the pipelines, which were known collectively as Nord Stream 1, had been providing Germany and much of Western Europe with cheap Russian natural gas for more than a decade. A second pair of pipelines, called Nord Stream 2, had been built but were not yet operational. Now, with Russian troops massing on the Ukrainian border and the bloodiest war in Europe since 1945 looming, President Joseph Biden saw the pipelines as a vehicle for Vladimir Putin to weaponize natural gas for his political and territorial ambitions.

Asked for comment, Adrienne Watson, a White House spokesperson, said in an email, “This is false and complete fiction.” Tammy Thorp, a spokesperson for the Central Intelligence Agency, similarly wrote: “This claim is completely and utterly false.”

Biden’s decision to sabotage the pipelines came after more than nine months of highly secret back and forth debate inside Washington’s national security community about how to best achieve that goal. For much of that time, the issue was not whether to do the mission, but how to get it done with no overt clue as to who was responsible.

STICKER SHOCK – REPLACING ALL THE WEAPONS WE SENT TO THE UKRAINE

Thursday, December 1st, 2022

If you are shocked that the U.S. sent billions of dollars worth of weapons to defend Ukraine, wait until you see how much it is going to cost the U.S. (yes, your  taxpayers’ money) to replace all those weapons.  Nancy
A DISARMING PROSPECT
By Jamie Mcintyre, Senior Writer   November 10, 2022
EXCERPT FROM THIS ARTICLE:  “We burned through seven years’ worth of Javelins [shoulder-fired anti-tank missiles] in a couple of months,” Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-WI) told the Washington Examiner. “We’re running low on all our stockpiles. We have to turbocharge our munitions industrial base.”

On a warm August day last year, while House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) was drawing the ire of Beijing with her high-profile visit to Taiwan , a small group of national security experts was huddled around two big game boards in a small window-lit conference room in Washington, D.C.

The professionals from MIT and the Center for Strategic and International Studies were playing another iteration of a tabletop exercise designed to game out what might really happen if China were to launch an invasion of Taiwan and the United States went to war to thwart them.

With two competing teams matching wits and moving tiny game pieces around on the two maps — one showing China, the other the U.S., Japan, and Taiwan — the results from 24 different scenarios, stretching over several months, varied, always with both sides suffering big losses but usually with the U.S. prevailing, albeit at enormous cost.

“The good guys win in the sense that we are able to maintain an autonomous Taiwan and the Chinese are not able to conquer the island, but the bad news is that we take a lot of casualties,” said Mark Cancian, senior adviser at CSIS, one of the participants in the real-world version of Risk.

“For example, often we lose 500 aircraft, two aircraft carriers, and Taiwanese economy is devastated, so there’s a very high price,” Cancian told the Washington Examiner. “The Chinese also lose a lot of ships and aircraft, so it’s costly all around.”

There was, however, one glaring deficiency on the U.S. side, which months later would be echoed in a display of Russia’s embarrassingly flawed plan to invade and subjugate Ukraine — namely a critical shortage of certain kinds of precision munitions.

Ukraine is primarily a ground war with stationary targets that can be attacked by cruise missiles and drones, which, as the war dragged on much longer that Russian President Vladimir Putin planned, began to be in short supply.

In a war with China over Taiwan, which is an island, the weapons of choice would be air-to-air and anti-ship missiles, especially the LRASM (Lockheed Martin’s Long Range Anti-Ship Missile ).
