The French leadership under Emmanuel Macron used the recent riots to usher in new policies of mass government surveillance. News headlines in France have said that every phone in the country can now be used as a spying device by police. But this actually goes further—the measures include computers and other devices as well.
France is now grappling with difficult laws to regulate difficult powers. But in reality, what it’s facing is a question that most of the world may soon have to face: the surveillance systems already exist. They exist wherever these devices exist. The data is already being collected. This holds true just as much in France as it does all through Europe, and all throughout the United States. It’s mainly held by private businesses right now. It’s sold to advertisers and big data networks. But that could change …

WHO IS JAMES SIMPSON ?
James Simpson is an investigative journalist, businessman and former economist and budget examiner for the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB).
Since 1995, he has written non-fiction articles for various periodicals based both on his experiences in government and business, and a longstanding interest in public policy.
Mr. Simpson is best known for his exposé on the Cloward-Piven Strategy of Manufactured Crisis. His work provided background for Glenn Beck’s TV series on the subject. I first sent this video, Spy In The Hanoi Hilton, out in 2017 and feel that it is so important that it needs to be sent out again. It is a true story that was Top Secret for 42 years and was released in 2015 by the Smithsonian Channel. Sadly, Colonel (Ret) Bernard L. Talley, a US Air Force Pilot and a Vietnam POW for 6 1/2 years for sharing with us this extraordinarily emotional story of James Stockdale, a fellow prisoner in the Hanoi Hilton. This very successful high level espionage operation was kept top secret all these past 42 years so that the technique could be used by future POW’s. This operation was just declassified this year and the movie was produced by the Smithsonian Channel. Please be aware that there are scenes of torture in this movie that are very difficult to watch. The “weaponized” FBI is “targeting” innocent Americans and retaliating against whistleblowers, according to Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), who joined House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) for a Thursday morning press conference ahead of scheduled testimony from three FBI whistleblowers before the committee.
“The FBI has been victimized by political capture, and that politicization has manifested in the targeting of Americans who never deserved to have the government weaponized against them,” Gaetz stated. “Whistleblowers saw those bad acts. They stepped forward and they were retaliated against and crushed as a consequence.”
