DENVER — Parents in blue states may feel powerless to stop the Biden administration’s Title IX rule, but it turns out they have a silver bullet: They can join Moms for Liberty.
A federal judge last week temporarily blocked the final rule adding “gender identity” to Title IX in Kansas, Alaska, Utah and Wyoming — and schools attended by children whose parents belong to Moms for Liberty or students who are members of Young America’s Foundation or Female Athletes United.
In other words, any parent in any state can stop their child’s school from enforcing the Title IX rewrite simply by signing up for Moms for Liberty, which is free and can be done online, or having their child register for YAF or FAU.
The catch: The deadline is July 15.
The result is a membership-drive bonanza that has the potential to bring untold hundreds, if not thousands, into the Moms for Liberty fold as parents seek to exempt their schools from the gender identity requirement pending the outcome of the lawsuit.
“If you join by July 15th, your child will be protected from the Biden administration’s radical overhaul of Title IX,” said Moms for Liberty, which enrolls both mothers and fathers, on X. “That means girls & parental rights [are] protected at your child’s school!”
The message is particularly relevant in blue states or those with Democratic attorneys general. No Democratic AG has sued to block the revised rule.
The White House issued a statement condemning the SAVE Act, and House The House of Representatives will hold an important vote this week on commonsense legislation that everyone should support. The vote ought to be unanimous. But it won’t be.
Speaker Mike Johnson has put the SAVE Act (Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act) on the House calendar for an on-the-record vote. The legislation is very simple: If you want to register to vote, you must provide proof of citizenship because only American citizens should be voting in our elections.
But there is growing evidence that illegal aliens who are pouring across Joe Biden’s open borders are in fact registering to vote and voting.
This is a real problem, in spite of the left’s vehement denials. Just consider this excerpt from an Associated Press report this year about the voting controversy in Arizona:
“Arizona is required to accept the federal registration form, but anyone who does not provide proof of citizenship is only allowed to vote for president, the U.S. House or Senate. The federal form requires people to swear they are U.S. citizens, but there is no proof requirement.
“Federal-only voters have been a subject of political wrangling since the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in 2013 that Arizona cannot require documentary proof of citizenship for people to vote in national elections. The state responded by creating two classes of voters: those who can vote in all races and those who can vote only in federal elections.”
The controversy in Arizona exposes a serious flaw in the 1993 Motor Voter law that forced states to allow people to register to vote, without proof of citizenship, at their local Department of Motor Vehicles office when they get a driver’s license.
“I will give thanks for being born in a country where such moral progress is possible.”

I read an outstanding commentary this morning by Condoleezza Rice, our former secretary of state appointed by President George W. Bush in 2005. She was previously the director of the prestigious Hoover Institution. Not a single State Department appointee under the current administration rivals her intellect and leadership.
In a piece titled “Juneteenth Is Our Second Independence Day, Rice, the great-grandchild of a slave, wrote about June 19, 1865, when soldiers under orders from Republican President Abraham Lincoln “arrived in the farthest territory of the Confederate states — in Galveston Bay, Texas — bringing with them the news that slavery had been abolished.” It was, she noted, “an important step for the 250,000 people still enslaved in Texas, and one they probably didn’t believe would ever come to pass.”
She wrote of her personal experience a century later, “growing up in Birmingham, Alabama, which was then the most segregated city in the country,” and recounted: “I was eight years old when, on a Sunday morning in September 1963, the 16th Street Baptist Church was bombed. I felt the blast a few blocks away in the church where my father was the pastor. Four little girls, two of whom I knew, were killed.”
She observes: “To me, Juneteenth is a recognition of what I call America’s second founding. Despite our nation’s extraordinary founding documents about equality, this country was founded as a slave-owning state. That is our birth defect. But the words in those carefully crafted documents — written by great men who were themselves flawed human beings — ultimately lit the way toward a more perfect union.”
She concludes: “Today, just as I once did with my parents, I will celebrate Juneteenth. I will think about my ancestors and what they must have felt when they were liberated from slavery. And I will give thanks for being born in a country where such moral progress is possible. That is worth celebrating not just by black Americans but by all of us.”
Indeed. Well said.
But in the years since she was a child in Birmingham, that “moral progress” has been subjugated to the Democrat Party’s politics of hate and division.

In 2021, Joe Biden was elected after a bitterly fought campaign that deposed the incumbent Donald Trump. Democrats eventually captured, for a time, both the House and Senate, ensuring the most left-wing government in modern American history.
Americans were then set to witness a great experiment. For the first time in their lives, a truly radical socialist program would supposedly fundamentally transform the way America dealt with the border, immigration, the economy, race relations, foreign policy, energy, law enforcement, crime, education, and social questions such as religion, gender, abortion, and schooling.
In a sense, we were all to be lab rats of sorts, to be experimented on by the radical left and their various critical theories. Now in the last year of the Biden term, we can see the results of that experiment—and the unfortunate disasters that followed.
But first, how was such a radical move to the left even possible in a center-right America?
The Democratic nominee, Biden, had earlier united the left, but only through a Faustian deal. The handlers of a nearly non compos mentis Biden had ushered all his 2020 primary rivals out of the primary races in unison.
But in exchange for their exits that ensured Biden the nomination, the left took over his general campaign—in which Biden was virtually relegated to his basement—and then set his agenda.
Who was running things?
The mysterious architects of White House ideology included, inter alia, the omnipresent, now-Washington-DC-dwelling Obamas, the old socialist gadfly Bernie Sanders, the fossilized tribunes of the black and Latino congressional caucuses, the DEI firebrand Squad, and the neo-socialist scold Elizabeth Warren.
As a result, for one of the few times in American history, the hard left now had undreamt of power. And it was enhanced by a chorus in our compliant media, academia, corporations, the administrative state, foundations, entertainment, and popular culture.

President Joe Biden’s White House has declared the holiest of Christian holidays “Transgender Day of Visibility,” announcing that “transgender Americans are part of the fabric of our nation.”
Biden issued an official proclamation on Good Friday, reading, “We honor the extraordinary courage and contributions of transgender Americans and reaffirm our Nation’s commitment to forming a more perfect Union — where all people are created equal and treated equally throughout their lives.”
The official proclamation continued:
NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH R. BIDEN JR., President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim March 31, 2024, as Transgender Day of Visibility. I call upon all Americans to join us in lifting up the lives and voices of transgender people throughout our Nation and to work toward eliminating violence and discrimination based on gender identity.
Biden’s chosen day for the inaugural celebration is Easter Sunday — a day on which, even Biden, who discusses his Catholic faith often, celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The Biden White House has made the promotion of transgenderism a cornerstone of its policy agenda, with Biden in his 2024 State of the Union address pledging loyalty to transgender Americans. His proclamation touts the work he has done to promote that agenda:
I am proud that my Administration has stood for justice from the start, working to ensure that the LGBTQI+ community can live openly, in safety, with dignity and respect. I am proud to have appointed transgender leaders to my Administration and to have ended the ban on transgender Americans serving openly in our military. I am proud to have signed the Respect for Marriage Act into law, ensuring that every American can marry the person they love.

Despite stubbornly high inflation and record-high credit card debt, the economy added 2.7 million jobs last year while unemployment hovered just below 4%. But not all states did as well. California, the gem of Democratic uniparty governance, added just 154,000 jobs, and joblessness stagnated above 5%.
While states such as Florida and Texas grew their workforce by 3.4% and 3.3%, respectively, California’s grew by just 0.87%. All this was while the state budget deficit ballooned to a record $73 billion as revenues from personal income tax collection dropped by 25%.
Why is California’s economy sputtering while the rest of the nation moves ahead?
The simplest answer is that California’s population is shrinking. After more than 100 years of steady growth, California is exporting more people than it is importing. The state continues to have golden sunshine, natural beauty, and warm winters, but bad policy decisions by Democratic politicians who run the state mean people simply don’t want to live there anymore.
The biggest reason people are leaving is the cost of housing. On the coast where the best jobs are, California has some of the most expensive housing in the nation. To afford a median-priced home in San Francisco, a household needs to make $400,000 a year. Actual households in San Francisco make just one-third of that: $136,000.
California’s housing crisis is due to excessive environmental regulation, which makes it impossible to build new homes. While California built just fewer than 120,000 new homes in 2020, Texas built more than 260,000.
