Pentagon Audit Showing $1.9 Trillion in Missing Assets Signals Urgent Need Not for More Money but for Reform

The accounting disaster is a reflection of layers of bureaucratic incompetence which are undermining and crippling American national security.

The new audit report about the Department of Defense is another signal that the Pentagon needs reform a lot more than it needs extra money. As the Hill reports, “1,600 auditors combed through DOD’s $3.8 trillion in assets and $4 trillion in liabilities, conducting some 700 site visits.”

Defense, like all government agencies, has to submit to mandatory audits, thanks to reforms passed in the early 1990s. The auditors “found that half of DOD’s assets can’t be accounted for,” the Hill adds.

Think of that statement for a minute. An estimated $1.9 trillion in defense assets can’t be accounted for. How much confidence can we have in a Department of Defense which can’t keep track of trillions of dollars’ worth of equipment and other assets?

 

The breadth of the Defense Department failure is astounding. There are 29 separate audits in the department. Comptroller Mike McCord says only seven passed. Four were conditional, and 18 audits completely failed.

These 70 Republicans Just Rewarded The FBI With New Headquarters Worth $375 Million

On the day that the DOJ announced arrests related to a brothel that focused on political clients, these 70 Republicans voted to give the FBI brand new headquarters.

Florida Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz moved to defund plans for the new office building with an amendment to the Financial Services and General Government Appropriations Act for 2024. House Democrats were unanimous in opposing the Gaetz proposal and were joined by 70 Republicans. Gaetz’s proposal failed 273 to 145 in a Wednesday vote, the same day the Justice Department unveiled three arrests over a “sophisticated high-end brothel” ring operating in Virginia and Massachusetts.

Despite decades of misconduct revealing an agency politicized beyond repair on behalf of Democrats dispatched to prosecute political opponents, House Republicans have given the FBI a multi-million-dollar new complex to interfere in foreseeable elections.

Our country is up for grabs to whoever and however they can get here.  If the Biden administration wanted more immigrants, all they would have to do is legally increase  the quotas that are allowed from nations around the world.      Then we would know who is coming into our country and why. They are paying for something called ‘safe mobility centers’ throughout Central America to speed up the movement of illegals north.

The Biden administration failed to remove through immigration court proceedings, 99.73 percent of illegal aliens released into the United States during President Biden’s first 26 months in office.

Two new camps are currently under construction in Panama. They will be operated by the United Nations (UN) and affiliated NGOs. Much of the funding is coming from the United States. The purpose of the new camps is to make sure more illegals can be pushed through and make it to the United States.

The centerpiece of this conference was the concept of climate refugees. What that boils down to is this. Climate change is dogma and cannot be questioned. The whole world is impacted by climate change. If you are impacted by climate change you can claim refugee status and demand the right to migrate wherever you choose.

Everyone is now a refugee. Borders no longer exist.
