EMP THREAT – REAL AND GROWING – ICON LECTURE

Wednesday, April 20th, 2016

To inform the public on this possible disaster, ICON Lectures will be presenting James Jay Carafano, PhD, who will be speaking on “The EMP Threat” on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 7 pm at Extraordinary Ventures, 200 South Elliott Road, Chapel Hill.  Dr. Carafano is a leading expert in national security and foreign policy challenges and is the Heritage Foundation’s Vice President and is responsible for Heritage’s entire defense and foreign policy team.    He is also a 25-year Army veteran with a doctorate from Georgetown University and is also a West Point graduate.

The EMP Threat Is Real and Growing

Building defenses against the electromagnetic threat has never been more urgent – or more doable.

A row of power lines at sunset.

We must harden our infrastructure to withstand electromagnetic threats.
By and Oct. 1, 2015, at 8:00 a.m.+ More

Ongoing crises make it difficult for policymakers to devote sufficient attention to electromagnetic threats, which are less prominent but potentially catastrophic. Events that reflect our growing vulnerability to these threats often slip quickly from the front page, as did the cyberattack against Sony Pictures. Others, such as solar storms across Alaska in March and the accidental power station explosion in April that left Washington, D.C. in the dark, go mostly unnoticed. And even events that dominate headlines, like the Iran nuclear agreement, don’t tell the whole story about electromagnetic threats. As a nuclear threshold state, Iran may quickly race to build a bomb that could be used to conduct a devastating electromagnetic attack against the United States.

REFUGEE TSUNAMI – CIVILIZATIONAL JIHAD

Sunday, April 3rd, 2016

The Refugee Migration  Resettlement Crisis is definitely a very hot  topic in this election.  This  article by Monica Crowley gets to the very heart of the problem and why the West needs to be aware of Hijra which is a core part of Islam’s jihad that involves Islamic conquest through migration.

Because of the importance of this issue, ICON Lectures is presenting a talk on The Refugee Resettlement Migration Crisis on Tuesday, April 5 in Chapel Hill at 200 S. Elliott Road at 7 pm.  Mr. James Simpson, a noted authority on this issue and an investigative journalist will be the guest speaker.  For more details and to obtain your ticket online, please go to www.iconlectureseries.com

It’s the civilizational jihad, stupid

Europe is likely at the point of no return
A memorial to the Belgian attack victims outside the stock exchange in Brussels. (Associated Press)
By Monica Crowley – The Washington Times – Wednesday, March 23, 2016 Online Opinion Editor — Monica Crowley, a host and political and foreign affairs analyst for the Fox News Channel and host of the nationally syndicated radio program, “The Monica Crowley Show,” oversees all opinion content appearing on Washingtontimes.com and writes original content for The Washington Times. A regular panelist on “The McLaughlin Group” and an anchor on MSNBC, Ms. Crowley authored of The New York Times’ bestseller, “What The (Bleep) Just Happened? The Happy Warrior’s Guide to the Great American Comeback.” She served as Foreign Policy Assistant to former President Richard Nixon and wrote two bestsellers about her experiences. Ms. Crowley has also written for The New Yorker, the Wall Street Journal, the Los Angeles Times, Newsweek, and the New York Post in addition to lecturing at Yale, Columbia, and MIT.
EXCERPT FROM THIS ARTICLE:  Hijra is a core part of jihad going back to the Prophet Muhammad that involves Islamic conquest through migration. The objective is to overwhelm non-Muslim territories with Muslim populations until they achieve domination through sheer numbers. No weapons necessary — until they gain enough control.
For decades, the author Bat Ye’or has written extensively on Islam and dhimmitude (enslavement of the infidel by Muslim overlords who force them to “accept a condition of humiliation”). Her seminal work, “Eurabia: The Euro-Arab Axis,” described — in 1985 — the deliberate Islamization of the continent with the encouragement of European leaders who desired cheap labor
Like every other civilized human being, I was horrified by the Islamic State terror attacks that rocked Brussels this week, killing and wounding dozens of people.
But pardon me if I’m unmoved by the latest flurry of outrage and condemnation that has predictably followed.
We’ve heard it all before: the pronouncements about being “at war,” calls for “solidarity,” the feel-good, meaningless hashtags and sad cartoons and signs saying “terrorists never win.”
Spare me the self-indulgent claptrap.
Terrorists do win. They are winning — because for all of the gnashing of teeth we get after each attack, the West does nothing meaningful to stop it. And by “stop it,” I don’t just mean acting militarily to halt violent jihad. I mean stopping every aspect of the civilizational jihad being waged against the West.
Unless and until we are willing to fight this war the way it must be fought, please quit the crocodile tears and pointless hashtags that accomplish nothing except make their re-tweeters appear “sensitive.”
Really fighting this war means acknowledging some hard truths. Islam is no mere religion. It is an all-encompassing ideological system that dictates everything from law (Shariah) to personal relationships which also have religious elements. Conquest and subjugation of the infidel lands are integral to this totalitarian ideology, by the sword, if necessary.

PHOTOS – ICON LECTURE – WORLDWIDE PERSECUTION OF CHRISTIANS AND JEWS

Monday, November 2nd, 2015

ICON Lecture Series presented “The Worldwide Persecution of Christians and Jews” on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The guest speakers were Dr. Mark Harris, Senior Pastor of the First Baptist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, who was also  a candidate in the Republican Primary for the U.S. Senate in 2014 and Pastor Les Lawrence, author of “Blessing Israel” and “Simple Islam” and who  is also a spokesman for Christian Zionism.  (see: www.ElishaVision.wordpress.com).

As a horrified world watches, ISIS and other radical Islamic groups have been systematically targeting and killing Christians and Jews.   Both of our speakers have visited Israel numerous times and gave us tremendous insight to the magnitude of this persecution and inspiration as to how to stand up and speak out against this threat to religious liberty throughout the world.
