Kara Frederick: Big Tech Totalitarianism and America’s Emerging Social Credit System
American Thought Leaders

AMERICAN THOUGHT LEADERS

JAN JEKIELEK

“It’s not just social media companies or your right to be on Twitter, your right to be on Facebook. It’s everything. Email delivery services, online fundraising platforms … It’s every aspect of your digital life,” says Heritage Foundation research fellow Kara Frederick.

From Twitter to GoFundMe, digital platforms have shut down accounts, fundraisers, or online transactions and removed people from aspects of digital life because of their political views. “These practices are frankly mirroring that of what China does in the social credit system,” she says.

Frederick previously served as a senior intelligence analyst for the U.S. Naval Special Warfare Command, and spent six years as a counterterrorism analyst at the Department of Defense. Later, she helped create and lead Facebook’s global counterterrorism program.

In this episode, she breaks down what she sees as an evolving Big Tech totalitarianism, and offers a strategy to rein it in.

I think I’ve had discussions w/enough Boomer-tier Trump supporters who believe the 2020 election was fraudulent to extract a general theory about their perspective. It is also the perspective of most of the people at the Capitol on 1/6, and probably even Trump himself. 1/x
Most believe some or all of the theories involving midnight ballots, voting machines, etc, but what you find when you talk to them is that, while they’ll defend those positions w/info they got from Hannity or Breitbart or whatever, they’re not particularly attached to them. 2/x
Here are the facts – actual, confirmed facts – that shape their perspective: 1) The FBI/etc spied on the 2016 Trump campaign using evidence manufactured by the Clinton campaign. We now know that all involved knew it was fake from Day 1 (see: Brennan’s July 2016 memo, etc). 3/x
These are Tea Party people. The types who give their kids a pocket Constitution for their birthday and have Founding Fathers memes in their bios. The intel community spying on a presidential campaign using fake evidence (incl forged documents) is a big deal to them. 4/x

ARE WE NAZI GERMANY ?

Are We Nazi Germany?

Ronald E. Yates is a U.S. Army veteran, author, former Chicago Tribune foreign correspondent, and professor and dean emeritus of journalism at the University of Illinois.

I’ve noticed that whenever the subject of Nazi Germany is raised, someone always says something like this: “It’s unbelievable that Adolf Hitler was able to manipulate and control the entire German population.  It just seems impossible.”

Yet that’s exactly what he did.  Yes, there were some dissenters and political foes, but they were subdued and quashed as the boundless power of the Nazi regime shut down all dissent with the use of the brown-shirted Sturmabteilung or SA, the Schutzstaffel or SS, and the dreaded Gestapo or Geheime Staatspolizei.

Perhaps a bit of context is in order here.  I spent three years in Germany with the Army Security Agency involved in SIGINT (intelligence derived from electronic signals and systems used by foreign targets).  I am fluent in German, my wife is German, I have studied German history, and I keep up with current events in the country.

THE NEW REGRESSIVE DARK AGES – VICTOR DAVIS HANSON

Wednesday, June 2nd, 2021

The New Regressive Dark Ages

May 30, 2021
Once upon a time long ago, we agreed there were certain immutable laws of human nature. These laws were based on facts, reality, and data.
In other words, we accepted common sense about the way the world worked according to logical and even “scientific” principles. That assumption defined us as “enlightened” rather than Dark Age reductionists and ideological- or myth-driven zealots.
Not now. “Progressives,” especially the media, are most often regressive, anti-Enlightenment, and intolerant people, who start with a deductive premise and then make the evidence conform to it—or else.

Regressives

For example, we used to believe that if the government printed more money without commensurate sudden rises in population or economic output, inflation followed. And money cheapened in value all the more so if the government simultaneously both incentivized labor non-participation through over generous entitlements, and promised or enacted higher taxes and more regulations. The latter inevitably would discourage production as demand from a stimulated economy rose.
In 100 days, we’ve either done all of those things or, at least sent messages to producers that we shall do so shortly. Why then are we surprised that monthly consumer prices are spiking after nearly 20 years of very low inflation? Why are our essentials such as lumber, gasoline, housing, appliances, and food skyrocketing? Is the current idea that there is no science of economics? Or is inflation good by “spreading the wealth” through decreasing the value of money for those who have too much of it?
Deterrence is also an ancient law. Humans make instant cost-benefit analyses and act accordingly—from nation states that weigh the advisability of war to potential criminals who gauge the chances of their arrest and punishment.

‘BREAKING THE NEWS’ – A MUST READ

John Solomon: ‘Breaking the News’ Is a ‘Must-Read,’ Exposes Media’s Corruption and Conflicts of Interest ‘Hidden from the Public’

by Robert Kraychik   May 21, 2021

John Solomon, founder of Just the News and host of John Solomon Reports, praised Alex Marlow’s Breaking the News: Exposing the Establishment Media’s Hidden Deals and Secret Corruption as a “must-read” book exposing previously unreported corruption and conflicts of interest across the news media industry.

“[Breaking the News] is literally an explosive bombshell,” Solomon stated on Thursday’s edition of his podcast. “[Alex Marlow] has done enormous research into the corporate corrupting ties [and] political corrupting ties of mainstream news media.”

News media corruption goes far beyond left-wing and partisan Democrat biases, Solomon observed. He noted that Breaking the News provides readers with information on widespread conflicts of interest across news media necessary for a comprehensive understanding of what drives much of the industry’s deception.

MOLLIE HEMINGWAY – HISTORY OF ALLEGATIONS OF RIGGED ELECTIONS

Tuesday, May 11th, 2021

Mollie Hemingway’s new book is entitled “Rigged: How The Media, Big Tech, And Democrats Seized Our Elections” .  Mollie goes into detail in this article of the history behind how the Democrats charged election fraud in past elections when Republicans won.  Contrast that  now with how the Democrats and the media censor concerns over fraud in the 2020 election in which their man supposedly won.      Nancy

Mollie Hemingway Is Writing The 2020 Election Book The Media Don’t Want You To Read

The ruling class did everything in their power to make sure what happened in 2016 — a Donald Trump election victory — would never happen again in 2020.

If questioning the results of a presidential election were a crime, as many have asserted in the wake of the controversial 2020 election and its aftermath, nearly the entire Democratic Party and media establishment would have been incarcerated for their rhetoric following the 2016 election. In fact, the last time they accepted the legitimacy of a presidential election they lost was in 1988.

After the 2000 election, which hinged on the results of a recount in Florida, Democrats smeared President George W. Bush as “selected, not elected.” When Bush won re-election against then-Sen. John Kerry in 2004, many on the left claimed that voting machines in Ohio had been rigged to deliver fraudulent votes to Bush. HBO even produced and aired “Hacking Democracy,” a documentary that added fuel to the conspiracy theory fire of conversations about the 2004 results. But nothing holds a candle to what happened in 2016 after Donald Trump’s surprising defeat of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Rather than accept that Trump won and Clinton lost, the political and media establishments desperately sought to explain away Trump’s victory. What they settled on was a destructive conspiracy theory that crippled the government, empowered America’s adversaries, and illegally targeted innocent private citizens whose only crime was not supporting Hillary Clinton.

With baseless claims of hacked voting totals, illegal voter suppression, and extensive media manipulation, the Russian collusion hoax had it all. But more than anything, the belief that Trump stole the 2016 election had the support of the most powerful institutions, individuals, and even government agencies in the country.

“You can run the best campaign, you can even become the nominee, and you can have the election stolen from you,” Clinton told her followers in 2019.

Critical Race Theory: What It Is and How to Fight It

He is a graduate of Georgetown University and a former Lincoln Fellow at the Claremont Institute for the Study of Statesmanship and Political Philosophy. He is also a contributing editor of City Journal, where he covers topics including critical race theory, homelessness, addiction, and crime.

The following is adapted from a lecture delivered at Hillsdale College on March 30, 2021.

Critical race theory is fast becoming America’s new institutional orthodoxy. Yet most Americans have never heard of it—and of those who have, many don’t understand it. It’s time for this to change. We need to know what it is so we can know how to fight it.

In explaining critical race theory, it helps to begin with a brief history of Marxism. Originally, the Marxist Left built its political program on the theory of class conflict. Marx believed that the primary characteristic of industrial societies was the imbalance of power between capitalists and workers. The solution to that imbalance, according to Marx, was revolution: the workers would eventually gain consciousness of their plight, seize the means of production, overthrow the capitalist class, and usher in a new socialist society.

During the 20th century, a number of regimes underwent Marxist-style revolutions, and each ended in disaster. Socialist governments in the Soviet Union, China, Cambodia, Cuba, and elsewhere racked up a body count of nearly 100 million of their own people. They are remembered for their gulags, show trials, executions, and mass starvations. In practice, Marx’s ideas unleashed man’s darkest brutalities.

By the mid-1960s, Marxist intellectuals in the West had begun to acknowledge these failures. They recoiled at revelations of Soviet atrocities and came to realize that workers’ revolutions would never occur in Western Europe or the United States, where there were large middle classes and rapidly improving standards of living. Americans in particular had never developed a sense of class consciousness or class division. Most Americans believed in the American dream—the idea that they could transcend their origins through education, hard work, and good citizenship.

But rather than abandon their Leftist political project, Marxist scholars in the West simply adapted their revolutionary theory to the social and racial unrest of the 1960s. Abandoning Marx’s economic dialectic of capitalists and workers, they substituted race for class and sought to create a revolutionary coalition of the dispossessed based on racial and ethnic categories.
