KAMALA’S POSITION ON ABORTION

Sunday, September 13th, 2020

Kamala Harris’s Abortion Absolutism

by Alexandra DeSanctis    August 12, 2020
Abortion policy is just one of several areas in which California senator Kamala Harris, Joe Biden’s running mate, has sworn to abuse executive power to assert her preferences if Congress won’t legislate as she’d like. Her authoritarian instincts were frightening when she was running for president herself, and they’re hardly any less frightening now that, if she and Biden are elected, she will be just one crisis away from the presidency.
Several of my colleagues have already detailed many of the issues with Harris, but let me add another: She is without question the most radically pro-abortion candidate to run for president or vice president in the history of our country.

As a senator, Harris has cosponsored the most aggressively pro-abortion piece of federal legislation ever introduced, the Women’s Health Protection Act, which would override state restrictions on abortions in the last three months of pregnancy, well after fetal viability. The bill would invalidate any state law that prohibits “abortion after fetal viability when, in the good-faith medical judgment of the treating physician, continuation of the pregnancy would pose a risk to the pregnant woman’s life or health.”

CALIFORNIA IS COMING FOR YOU

Tuesday, September 1st, 2020

Two  WSJ articles regarding California are included in this email.  The first, California is Coming for You and the second, is  California’s Radical Indoctrination.  Both are alarming and need to be stopped before the rest of the country is subjected to the radicalism that has overtaken California.   Nancy

California Is Coming for You

Its energy, tax and regulatory failures are the Democrats’ ideal for national policy.

by Andy Kessler     August 30, 2020

I didn’t have to read the entire Democratic Party platform, let alone the spend-tasmagoric Biden-Sanders Unity Task Force recommendations. Sitting here in California, I’m already living it. If polls are to be believed, left-coast policies are coming to you soon—and you’re not going to like it. California is an early glimpse for the rest of the country of a blackout-rolling, water-deprived, tax-hiking, spending-spiking one-party state longing for its old incandescent glow.

The U.S. may flip to one party rule; California is already there. Democrats have controlled the state Assembly since 1997 and the governorship since 2011—or 1999 if you ignore Arnold the Governator, as most do. Single-party rule means single-party rules. We’re No. 1 in the top marginal income tax rate at 13.3%, including for capital gains. That beats New York City. We’re also No. 1 in state sales tax, but only ninth when you include local levies. Still impressive! Everything else follows.

This month Californians have been subjected to rolling blackouts because of the state’s renewable energy mandates—33% today, 60% by 2030 and 100% by 2045. When the sun goes down, which I understand happens every evening, solar cells are worthless. So California has to buy energy on the spot market—sometimes for 10 times normal prices when it’s hot. So we get rolling blackouts. This craziness could be yours too in the near future. Get used to higher bills and resetting your clocks.

California is No. 3 in the nation in water prices. Sad, since it grows 90% of America’s broccoli, 95% of its garlic, 71% of spinach, 69% of carrots and two-thirds of fruits and nuts. Your prices are going up. And kiss incandescent lightbulbs goodbye—most were outlawed in California as of Jan. 1. Someone please send a box of 60-watt flame-tip candelabra base bulbs my way. I’m getting desperate.

CALIFORNIA’S GREEN ENERGY BLACKOUTS

California Gov. Gavin Newsom: Time to ‘Sober Up’ About Green Energy’s Flaws

by Joel B Pollak   August 17, 2020

California Gov. Gavin Newsom said Monday that the state had to “sober up” about the fact that renewable energy sources had failed to provide enough power for the state at peak demand, and needed “backup” and “insurance” from other sources.

Newsom addressed journalists and the public in the midst of ongoing electricity blackouts that began on Friday, as hundreds of thousands of Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) customers in northern and central California lost power.

There is currently high demand for electricity across the state, as the entire West Coast has been hit by a heat wave and record-breaking temperatures.

One reason the state lacked power, officials admitted, was its over-reliance on “renewables” — i.e. wind and solar power.

There was not enough wind to keep turbines going, Newsom said, and cloud cover and nightfall restricted solar power.

VIDEO – TUCKER CARLSON RIPS THE MASK OFF THE DEMOCRAT PARTY

I was working on a post about how the Democrat party is cynically hiding their presidential candidate, Joe “Who’s My Wife” Biden, from public view, while using the Wuhan virus, mobs, and cancel culture to silence any opposition to Democrat politicians or their plans for America. Then, while I was looking for a specific link, I stumbled across Tucker Carlson’s monologue about Biden and the debates. I knew I had nothing to add.

Carlson is getting increasingly angry about what’s going on in this country. The thread of humor that used to underlie his opening monologues is gone. Instead, he’s gone full constitutional warrior, tackling the Democrats’ cynicism, and calling out the dual leftist practices of violence and censorship. Every day, Carlson is better than the day before, and that’s certainly true with this monologue.

This is how these stealth Trump voters will play out in a majority Democrat state such as California: In 2016, 32% of Californians voted for Trump, an insufficient number to give him California’s electoral votes. This year, that 32% of voters may think to themselves, “Why bother?”

Here’s why they should bother: If just 20% more people back Trump in 2020 than did in 2016, that 20%, when added to the 32% of existing California conservatives, means Trump wins California. If the 32% can’t be bothered to show up, there’s no chance of a miracle.

Meanwhile, in traditionally red states, expect election fraud such as you’ve never seen before. Generations of the dead will be signing an X with their skeletal hands so that they can vote for Biden. The only way to assure that fraud doesn’t swing red states to Biden is for Trump supporters to turn out in overwhelming numbers. Only with more living than dead votes can Biden be so soundly trounced that the claims that “Trump cheated” will die a swift, painful death.

Watch Carlson and, if you haven’t already registered to vote in the upcoming election, do so immediately. And then vote in November. Also, if someone accuses you of being racist, spit in his eye. And if your employer tries to fire you over speech or race issues, use the internet to find a civil rights lawyer who will sue your employer into bankruptcy.

We can fight back. We must fight back.

VICTOR DAVIS HANSON – MEMBERS OF PREVIOUS GENERATIONS NOW SEEM LIKE GIANTS

Past vs. Present

Victor Davis Hanson column: Members of previous generations now seem like giants

Oct 9, 2019

Many of the stories about the gods and heroes of Greek mythology were compiled during the Greek Dark Ages. Impoverished tribes passed down oral traditions that originated after the fall of the lost palatial civilizations of the Mycenaean Greeks.

Dark Age Greeks tried to make sense of the massive ruins of their forgotten forbearers’ monumental palaces that were still standing around. As illiterates, they were curious about occasional clay tablets they plowed up in their fields with incomprehensible ancient Linear B inscriptions.

We of the 21st century are beginning to look back at our own lost epic times and wonder about these now-nameless giants who left behind monuments that we cannot replicate, but instead merely use or even mock.

Does anyone believe that contemporary Americans could build another transcontinental railroad in six years?

Californians tried to build a high-speed rail line. But after more than a decade of government incompetence, lawsuits, cost overruns and constant bureaucratic squabbling, they have all but given up.

The result is a half-built overpass over the skyline of Fresno — and not yet a foot of track laid.

Who were those giants of the 1960s responsible for building our interstate highway system?

California’s roads now are mostly the same as we inherited them, although the state population has tripled. We have added little to our freeway network, either because we forgot how to build good roads or would prefer to spend the money on redistributive entitlements.

When California had to replace a quarter section of the earthquake-damaged San Francisco Bay Bridge, it turned into a near-disaster, with 11 years of acrimony, fighting, cost overruns — and a commentary on our decline into Dark Ages primitivism. Yet 82 years ago, our ancestors built four times the length of our single replacement span in less than four years.

It took them just two years to design the entire Bay Bridge and award the contracts.

Our generation required five years just to plan to replace a single section. In inflation-adjusted dollars, we spent six times the money on a quarter of the length of the bridge and required 13 agencies to grant approval. In 1936, just one agency oversaw the entire bridge project.

MUST SEE VIDEO: California Doctors of Immunology Say Only Sick and Elderly Should be Quarantined, Businesses Should Open, and State is Pressuring Drs. to Add COVID-19 Numbers

April 25, 2020

Two California doctors of immunology and owners of  a Bakersfield Urgent Care facility say only the sick and immuno-compromised individuals must be quarantined, not healthy people.

Via KIRO News 23 –Doctors Dan Erickson and Artin Massihi said their facilities have tested over 5,200 patients for the coronavirus throughout the county, making up for over half of all testing in Kern. According to their data, the death rate of the coronavirus is similar in prevalence to the flu.
