Limbaugh on Market Collapse:

Obama Engineering the Decline of

America

Monday, August 8, 2011 06:17 PM

By: Jim Meyers

Top-rated talk radio host Rush Limbaugh finds a “silver lining” in the downgrading of America’s credit rating: There no longer is any doubt that President Barack Obama can be roundly defeated in 2012.

“Obamageddon — that’s what we have witnessed since Friday,” Rush told his listeners on Monday.

“Obamageddon. Barackalypse Now. The only silver lining I can find is that as far as 2012 goes, Obama’s a Debt Man Walking. Anybody want to tell me he’s not landslidable now?

“Let me repeat this as the Media Tweak of the Day: ‘What we have witnessed since Friday is Obamageddon, Barackalypse Now. And the only silver lining out there is that as far as 2012 goes, Obama’s now Debt Man Walking.”

In his blistering attack on Obama and the Democrats, Limbaugh asserted that “we have a president that’s overseeing — engineering — the decline of the American republic.”

He also charged that Democrats are trying to play the blame game against Republicans over the financial crisis.

“Obama is always running around complaining and whining and moaning about all that he inherited from George W. Bush,” Rush said.

“Well, he inherited a AAA credit rating, an unemployment rate of 5.7 percent.

THE STATE AGAINST BLACKS

Sunday, January 23rd, 2011
The Wall Street Journal

  • JANUARY 22, 2011

‘The welfare state has done to black Americans what slavery couldn’t do. . . . And that is to destroy the black family.’

Devon, Pa.

‘Sometimes I sarcastically, perhaps cynically, say that I’m glad that I received virtually all of my education before it became fashionable for white people to like black people,” writes Walter Williams in his new autobiography, “Up from the Projects.” “By that I mean that I encountered back then a more honest assessment of my strengths and weaknesses. Professors didn’t hesitate to criticize me—sometimes to the point of saying, ‘That’s nonsense.'”

Mr. Williams, an economist at George Mason University, is contrasting being black and poor in the 1940s and ’50s with today’s experience. It’s a theme that permeates his short, bracing volume of reminiscence, and it’s where we began our conversation on a recent morning at his home in suburban Philadelphia.

“We lived in the Richard Allen housing projects” in Philadelphia, says Mr. Williams. “My father deserted us when I was three and my sister was two. But we were the only kids who didn’t have a mother and father in the house. These were poor black people and a few whites living in a housing project, and it was unusual not to have a mother and father in the house. Today, in the same projects, it would be rare to have a mother and father in the house.”

Even in the antebellum era, when slaves often weren’t permitted to wed, most black children lived with a biological mother and father. During Reconstruction and up until the 1940s, 75% to 85% of black children lived in two-parent families. Today, more than 70% of black children are born to single women. “The welfare state has done to black Americans what slavery couldn’t do, what Jim Crow couldn’t do, what the harshest racism couldn’t do,” Mr. Williams says. “And that is to destroy the black family.” (more…)

KRAUTHAMMER – MASSACRE, FOLLOWED BY LIBEL

Massacre, followed by libel

By Charles Krauthammer
Washington Post – Wednesday, January 12, 2011;

www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2011/01/11/AR2011011106068_pf.html

The charge: The Tucson massacre is a consequence of the “climate of hate” created by Sarah Palin, the Tea Party, Glenn Beck, Obamacare opponents and sundry other liberal betes noires.

The verdict: Rarely in American political discourse has there been a charge so reckless, so scurrilous and so unsupported by evidence.

As killers go, Jared Loughner is not reticent. Yet among all his writings, postings, videos and other ravings – and in all the testimony from all the people who knew him – there is not a single reference to any of these supposed accessories to murder.

Not only is there no evidence that Loughner was impelled to violence by any of those upon whom Paul Krugman, Keith Olbermann, the New York Times, the Tucson sheriff and other rabid partisans are fixated. There is no evidence that he was responding to anything, political or otherwise, outside of his own head. (more…)

NEW DEAL OR RAW DEAL?

Sunday, November 14th, 2010

Book asks: New Deal or Raw Deal?

By Thomas Sowell, Syndicated Columnist
The Picayune Item

PICAYUNE — Guess who said the following: “We have tried spending money. We are spending more than we have ever spent before and it does not work.” Was it Sarah Palin? Rush Limbaugh? Karl Rove?

Not even close. It was Henry Morgenthau, Secretary of the Treasury under Franklin D. Roosevelt and one of FDR’s closest advisers. He added, “after eight years of this Administration we have just as much unemployment as when we started. . . And an enormous debt to boot!”

This is just one of the remarkable and eye-opening facts in a must-read book titled “New Deal or Raw Deal?” by Professor Burton W. Folsom, Jr., of Hillsdale College.

Ordinarily, what happened in the 1930s might be something to be left for historians to be concerned about. But the very same kinds of policies that were tried — and failed — during the 1930s are being carried out in Washington today, with the advocates of such policies often invoking FDR’s New Deal as a model. THE ROCHE RECORD

LIBERTARIANS, GOLD BUGS, EXPORT COUNTRIES CONDEM FED ACTIONS

An article was recently forwarded to me by a friend, who like many of us, is concerned about the state of our economy today, and increasingly alarmed by the rhetoric coming from the media, Libertarians, gold standard advocates, and countries dependent on exports to the US.

The article was written by two members of the American Principles Project, an advocacy group for Liberty out of Washington, DC.

Having read the article a few times and visited the website, I’m guessing both authors would be content to be labeled Libertarian.  Conservatives and Libertarians share much of the same ideology, which is wonderful.  However, when it comes to economics the two groups diverge.  The article, “It’s the Money, Stupid,” written by Jeffrey Bell and Sean Filier, reveals the differences.

Libertarians have attached themselves to a failed economic school of thought, the Austrian School.  They’ll be quick to quote either Ludwig Mises or Friedrich Hayek in explaining themselves.  From this starting point, most of what Libertarians have been taught to believe about monetary policy and the role of the Federal Reserve System (Fed), or the international gold standard and “fiat” currencies are misguided.  In this area, Libertarians are much like Conservatives; they are trying to conserve something from years gone by.  The Austrian school is an economic philosophy that hasn’t kept pace with the establishment of a mature complex economy that is the United States, and for that matter, much of the rest of the world.

The article took a familiar path: the Fed is unconstitutional, poorly managed and must go.  Conservatives enable the Fed out of shortsightedness and poor understanding of monetary policy.  And, only paper money backed up by a piece of gold rock found below the surface of the earth is money of value.    (more…)

RUSH LIMBAUGH – ELECTION NIGHT – “RUSHSLIDE”

Thursday, November 4th, 2010

The American Spectator

Special Report

The Winner: Rush Limbaugh

By on 11.3.10 @ 6:10AM

“I hope he fails.”

With those famous four words, uttered January 16, 2009 — only days before Barack Obama was to be inaugurated — Rush Limbaugh drew a line in the sand.

And as a result, this morning it is Rush Limbaugh who is the undisputed winner of the 2010 election. The White House is repudiated. The Pelosi-run House of Representatives, supported by the Democrats’ Congressional Campaign Committee, also deliberately targeted Limbaugh. Speaker Pelosi is, abruptly, now history. The Senate is richer by a still-undetermined number of conservatives as this goes to Internet press.

You might even call last night’s landslide results a “Rushslide.” (more…)
