When two people share the same goals, they can disagree – even strongly disagree – and still have a productive discussion about how to reach those shared objectives. As comedian and author Owen Benjamin explains, the problem with America today is we no longer share the same goals, and that’s tearing us apart.

RED STATE/BLUE STATE DIVIDE

Navigating the Great Divide

By Stephen Moore    January 8, 2019
In the months after the election of Donald Trump, there was a mini-political movement in California to get the Golden State to secede from the Union. It didn’t get off the ground, though during a recent trip to Northern California, many of the people I met were still so distraught over the Trump presidency that were he to win re-election, secession would be much more seriously pursued. A majority of Californians don’t want to be governed by Donald Trump, and many liberal leaders and talking heads openly compare him to Adolf Hitler.

What if we arrived at a point where a solid majority of Californians wanted independence (and perhaps states like Washington and Oregon sought to join them)? Should they have the moral and constitutional right to do so? Would the other states ever impose military control over Californians to keep them in the Union?

The standard response is this issue was settled during the Civil War. Really? What the Civil War proved was that the North had more military might than the South. Imagine that it were the South in 1860 that held the political and military advantage to impose its will over the North, and moved to legalize the evil of slavery everywhere. Would the North have been morally wrong to secede?

The issue of secession takes on renewed vigor now given the British exit from the European Union. The EU allowed a fairly orderly process for allowing nations to leave the EU governing structure. The political tide in many places around the world appears to be for self-rule and sovereignty.

In America, the deepening and perhaps irreversible red state-blue state schism deserves immediate attention. We as a nation are more divided on ideological, cultural, economic and geographical lines than at any time since the Civil War. Look at the electoral map from recent elections.

THE SHAMING OF KAREN PENCE

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2019

THE WALL STREET JOURNAL

The Shaming of Karen Pence

A mob of secular Puritans targets her for teaching at a Christian school.

By William McGurn    January 22, 2019

Will no one speak up for Karen Pence other than her husband?

In scarcely a week, the vice president’s wife has become a public face of hate. CNN’s John King suggests that what Mrs. Pence has done is so grievous maybe taxpayers shouldn’t fund her Secret Service security protection. The American Civil Liberties Union says she’s sending “a terrible message to students.”

The Guardian sees in Mrs. Pence a reminder of “the vice-president’s dangerous bigotry.” During a Saturday night performance in Las Vegas, Lady Gaga told her fans that what Mrs. Pence has done confirms she and her husband are “the worst representation of what it means to be Christian.” A former Washington Post editor and senior writer for Politico tweets: “How can this happen in America?”

So what is this terrible thing Mrs. Pence has done? She plans to teach art part-time at Immanuel Christian School in Northern Virginia. This is a small private K-8 academy where Mrs. Pence has taught before. It adheres to a biblically rooted view of human sexuality.

Thanks to the crack reporters at the Washington Post, what this means is no mystery. The Post reports the following provision in the school’s employment contract: “I understand that the term ‘marriage’ has only one meaning; the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive covenant union as delineated in Scripture.”

Hmmm. Though presented as dangerous stuff, we’ve heard this before. For example, this is how Senate candidate Barack Obama put it in a 2004 radio interview: “I’m a Christian, and so although I try not to have my religious beliefs dominate or determine my political views on this issue, I do believe that tradition and my religious beliefs say that marriage is something sanctified between a man and a woman.”

So why are so many eager to cast the first stone against Mrs. Pence and not Mr. Obama? Because everyone knew when Mr. Obama spoke he didn’t really mean it; his position was taken out of political calculation. Mrs. Pence’s sin is that she really believes what she says.

IMMIGRANTS AND DISEASE

Immigrants and Disease

By Walter E.Williams   Walter E. Williams is a professor of economics at George Mason University.

August 29, 2018

The Immigration and Nationality Act mandates that all immigrants and refugees undergo a medical screening examination to determine whether they have an inadmissible health condition. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has technical instructions for medical examination of prospective immigrants in their home countries before they are permitted to enter the U.S. They are screened for communicable and infectious diseases such as tuberculosis, malaria, hepatitis, polio, measles, mumps and HIV. They are also tested for syphilis, gonorrhea and other sexually transmitted diseases. The CDC also has medical screening guidelines for refugees. These screenings are usually performed 30 to 90 days after refugees arrive in the United States.

But what about people who enter our country illegally? The CDC specifically cites the possibility of the cross-border movement of HIV, measles, pertussis, rubella, rabies, hepatitis A, influenza, tuberculosis, shigellosis and syphilis. Chris Cabrera, a Border Patrol agent in South Texas, warned: “What’s coming over into the U.S. could harm everyone. We are starting to see scabies, chickenpox, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus infections and different viruses.” Some of the youngsters illegally entering our country are known to be carrying lice and suffering from various illnesses. Because there have been no medical examinations of undocumented immigrants, we have no idea how many are carrying infectious diseases that might endanger American children when these immigrants enter schools across our nation.

JUST HOW MANY MUSLIMS WON POLITICAL OFFICE IN 2018 ? THE NUMBERS MAY SURPRISE YOU !

Just How Many Muslims Won Political Office In 2018? The Numbers May Surprise You!

Many of you are familiar with a couple of congressional seats that were picked up by Muslim women and the first Muslim state attorney general put into office in Minnesota.  What you may not realize is just how many political offices were filled by electing Muslims in 2018.  Even more concerning is the high percentage of Muslims voting and their openness to promote the fact that they want to “change” our culture and society.

First, the information comes from JETPAC, which stands for Justice Education Technology Political Advocacy Center.  According to their Mission Statement:

Jetpac (Justice Education Technology Political Advocacy Center) seeks to build a strong American Muslim political infrastructure and increase our community’s influence and engagement.

We will take our place at the table across all levels of government.

Our philosophy of change is rooted in a community-based approach, grassroots mobilization, civicstraining, and technology application. We have developed our own training curriculum, as well as proprietary social media technology and automation tools, to give our Fellows the skills and resources they need to win elections. (emphasis mine)

One wonders if some of those tools involve voter fraud, especially after what we witnessed in Minnesota.

Let’s break down the Muslim wins from federal to the local level, and then we’ll sort them by states.

THE NATIONAL GALLERY OF IDENTITY POLITICS

Saturday, December 29th, 2018

Will these liberals ever stop pushing “Identity Politics” on us ?  It is like a mental illness  with them as every one of our  institutions is being influenced by their obsession !  It is all part of Cultural Marxism and the Far Left’s plan on forever changing our country.   Nancy
THE WALL STREET JOURNAL

The National Gallery of Identity Politics

Forget Monet or Hopper. The art museum’s new director wants to tackle ‘gender equality,’ ‘social justice’ and ‘diversity.’

December 19, 2018  by Roger Kimball
Mr. Kimball is editor and publisher of the New Criterion and president and publisher of Encounter Books.

‘Every thing is what it is and not another thing,” observed the 18th-century British philosopher Joseph Butler. If that seems obvious, you haven’t been paying attention to what has been going on in the culture. Once upon a time (and it wasn’t that long ago), universities were what they claimed to be, institutions dedicated to the preservation and transmission of civilization’s highest values. Now they are bastions of political correctness, “intersectionality” and identity politics.

Something similar can be said of art museums. Although barely 200 years old as an institution, the art museum until recently existed primarily to preserve and nurture a love of art. Today, many art museums serve as fronts in battles that have little or nothing to do with art: entertainment, yes; snobbery and money, of course; and politics, politics, politics.

The latest example of this trend is particularly egregious because it involves one of America’s premier institutions, the National Gallery of Art in Washington.

Established and endowed by Andrew Mellon in 1937, the National Gallery quickly became one of the nation’s two or three most exquisite art museums. In terms of the breadth, depth and excellence of its collection, its only real rival is the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. And because of its place in the nation’s capital (and its claim on the taxpayer’s purse—about $140 million of its $190 million budget comes from the U.S. Treasury), the National Gallery occupies a singular place in the metabolism of America’s cultural life.

Obituarists looking to write the epitaph of the American art museum could do worse than ponder the elevation of Kaywin Feldman, currently director and president of the Minneapolis Institute of Art, to take the helm of the National Gallery in March when Earl A. “Rusty” Powell III, director since 1993, retires.

All the announcements of Ms. Feldman’s appointment have breathlessly noted that she will be “the first woman to hold the top job at the museum.” It’s meant as homage, and I hope I will be forgiven if I point out how patronizing are such declarations. In any case, the thing to appreciate about Ms. Feldman is not her sex but her slavish devotion to transforming the museum into a left-wing political redoubt.

VIDEO THE ORIGIN OF GUN VIOLENCE

Thursday, November 29th, 2018
Thanks to Gary Kanady for sharing this excellent video of Governor Bevin explaining how the corruption of our culture is affecting the violent behavior of our youth. One of the  points that Governor Bevin made really hit home with me.  He spoke of guns always being in many of our homes in the past and there were no mass gun shootings, especially in the schools.  It was never an issue  until the past 20 years or so.    I grew up in Pennsylvania which is known for its deer hunting.  Nearly everyone had hunting rifles in their homes, including my own.  Gun violence was unheard of when I was growing up.  Something has changed and I do believe Governor Bevin is correct that our culture has been corrupted.  I call it Culture Rot and there is a special category on our Conservative Women’s website regarding Culture Rot.  www.conservativewomensforum.com   The governor also mentions violent video games which I have been complaining about to my own children.      Nancy   P.S.   This video is from facebook and if perhaps you are unable to view it, it may be because you are not on facebook

‘THE NAKED COMMUNIST’ 45 GOALS

Wednesday, July 11th, 2018

Thanks to Royal Brown, one of our readers, who has shared with us information he researched on the 45 goals that were stated in the book “The Naked Communist”   Nancy

Please see a complimentary article below that I wrote about 45 Goals of Communism.  Also if you go to the Democratic Socialists of America website you will see their platform resembles what is the gospel among Democrats today.

Very sobering but thank God for POTUS Trump and his Administration who are reversing Obama’s “fundamental transformation”.   Royal

You are about to read a list of 45 goals that were spelled out in the 1958 book “The Naked Communist” and were entered into the Congressional Record back on Jan. 10,1963, thanks to Hon. A.S. Herlong, Jr. of FL . As you read this, 54 years later, you may be shocked by the events that have played themselves out. 1. U.S. acceptance of coexistence as the only alternative to atomic war. DONE- The Treaty on the Nonproliferation of Nuclear Weapons, commonly known as the Non-Proliferation Treaty or NPT, is a landmark international treaty whose objective is to prevent the spread of nuclear weapons and weapons technology, to promote cooperation in the peaceful uses of nuclear energy and to further the goal of achieving nuclear disarmament and general and complete disarmament. Opened for signature in 1968, the Treaty entered into force in 1970.  It is important to note here that the effort was not one of peace in the world but an effort to weaken the United State’s military might worldwide as the Soviet Union at that time was far behind the US in technology and economy.  The failed challenge during the Cuban Missile Crisis earlier in the decade was a signal to the Communist world that they would have to use other tactics.
