PHOTOS – ICON LECTURE – DR. MIKE ADAMS, PhD, CULTURAL MARXISM IN OUR UNIVERSITIES

Tuesday, March 14th, 2017

Professor Mike Adams, PhD, UNC Wilmington, was the guest speaker at ICON Lectures on Tuesday, March 7, 2017.  The subject of his talk was the detrimental roles of Cultural Marxism campus-wide in the erosion of conservative values and the suppression of Constitutional rights, particularly concerning free speech.  Some of the issues he discussed included  campus safe spaces and hot  spots, trigger warnings, same-sex marriage, reverse discrimination and political correctness.
Dr. Adams is Professor of Sociology and Criminology at UNC Wilmington and was awarded Professor of the Year for both 1998 and 2000.  His promotion was initially denied based on the university’s denouncement of his politically “incorrect” writings.  The US Court of Appeals found he had been illegally retaliated against, and ordered restitution.
A video of Dr. Adam’s talk will be posted on the ICON website in about a week for those of you who were unable to attend the lecture or who live outside our immediate area.    www.iconlectureseries.com

MARYLAND LIBRARY CANCELS LESBIAN POLE DANCER’S SEX-ED CLASSES FOR TEENS

An example of “culture rot” that is being pushed in our country.  Thankfully, the parents and citizens pushed back !   Nancy

Maryland library cancels lesbian pole dancer’s sex-ed classes for teens

Sex educator Bianca Palmisano
Fri Mar 10, 2017

LEONARDTOWN, Maryland, March 10, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) — Citizens voiced their concerns to St. Mary’s County commissioners on Tuesday night regarding a sex-ed class for minors without parental consent to be taught by a lesbian prostitution advocate in publicly-funded libraries.

The public forum lasted more than three hours, with men and women imploring civic leaders to do all they can to “restore good, wholesome, moral family values again.”

The classes for children ages 12-17 without parents present were canceled.

Lexington Park Library director Michael Blackwell apologized to attendees for making the “mistake” of scheduling the sex-ed class and said he hopes residents will forgive him. Rev. Larry Crabtree of Seek and Ye Shall Find Bible Church vouched for Blackwell’s sincerity.

“It truly was something to behold,” Georgia Kijesky, the homeschooling mother who rallied concerned citizens to call their local libraries, told LifeSiteNews. “Witnessing so many coming together and hearing the sincerity in their pleas made me so very, very proud to be a St. Mary’s County resident.”

Deacon Eamon Ripple of St. John Francis Regis parish in Hollywood, Maryland, gave an impassioned plea to “restore sex as a life-giving sacrament of matrimony instead of reducing it down to a recreational activity bringing harm to our children.”

St. John Francis Regis youth minister Rich Olon exposed lesbian instructor Bianca Palmisano’s bias toward “homosexual education” and transgenderism.

Palmisano was a keynote speaker at the 2013 “Slutwalk.” Olon pointed out that during her speech Palmisano promoted a sex toy shop where she said “polyamorous leather dykes could hang out with kinky bisexuals and couples and compare notes with lifelong swingers, and still welcome those just beginning to explore their sexuality.”

Palmisano added in her “Slutwalk” keynote address, “We host workshops twice a month, bringing in speakers from across the country to share their expertise on everything from blowjobs to threesomes to rough sex.”

Palmisano supporters also spoke at the public forum, calling objections to the sex-ed classes “censorship” and parents “homophobic.” They claimed the public favored the classes and chided county commissioners for caving to pressure.

“Much of the opposition stems from the feeling that an agenda was being pushed in the choice of such a radical liberal extremist to teach, or ‘groom,’ our children on sex,” Olon explained in a letter to the editor of a local paper. “She describes herself on her website as a ‘sex educator, vivacious queer, feminist … ‘ She provides seminars on bondage, sadism and masochism. She is an LGBT activist, a promoter of the legalization of prostitution, and a self-described ‘pole dancer.'”

“Do we really want someone who wears the title ‘Slut’ like a badge of honor teaching children about sex?” asked Olon, who also heads up religious education for the parish. “Should someone who believes that violence has a place in sex be charged with educating our children on sex?”

WHY GOVERNOR MCCRORY LOST THE ELECTION

Tuesday, January 3rd, 2017

THE DAILY SIGNAL

Standing Up to Political Bullying Is What Voters Want

After a month of counting absentee and provisional ballots, exploring voter fraud, and recounting 90,000+ ballots in one of the progressive strongholds of the state that were turned in at 11:30 p.m. on election night, North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory conceded that he lost his re-election on Dec. 5.

McCrory lost his re-election by only 10,277 out of 4.7 million votes, or two-tenths of 1 percent. However, repeal of the H.B. 2 “bathroom bill” is not the lesson to be learned from the election.

The governor’s race in North Carolina had barely concluded before the Human Rights Campaign and other LGBT groups began taking credit for having unseated the one-term governor over his refusal to back down to their bullying.

The Human Rights Campaign engaged in an eight-month smear campaign against the state of North Carolina—with McCrory as the primary target—over the passage of North Carolina’s privacy law, which blocked a Charlotte city ordinance that would have allowed men into women’s bathrooms, showers, locker rooms, and other intimate facilities.

The Human Rights Campaign points to highly suspect internal polling as proof that this issue was his downfall, but the facts bear out a different conclusion. McCrory’s strong stance for privacy and safety and ensuring that local laws do not impose financial and legal liability on businesses actually helped him in his re-election bid, rather than hurting him.

ANXIETY OVER THE PRESIDENT-ELECT

Monday, November 28th, 2016

Stigall: No, Democrats. We Don’t Want Trump to Treat You As Obama Has

I understand you’re angry. I understand you’re disappointed. I understand you feel like you don’t know your country anymore. But I need you to understand something.

It’s how I felt when you helped elect Barack Obama in 2008 and 2012.

Believe it or not, I thought he was pretty dangerous, too. I thought he held some pretty radical points of view, too. Most of all, I dreaded what he had in mind for our country’s direction. And you know what? He succeeded in fomenting, presiding over, and implementing so much of what I feared.

My sister-in-law called two days before the election devastated her family of five’s private health insurance policy jumped $500 a month.

I’ve watched cops protested and assassinated while American cities roil and burn. I’ve watched people tie up traffic and “occupy” streets and places of business.

I’ve seen a chicken sandwich restaurant attacked because its founder supports traditional marriage and a beer company attacked because its owner supports a Republican candidate.

Some of my favorite comedians have complained their comedy is no longer welcome on college campuses because what was once a punch line is now “dangerous speech.” My favorite entertainers suggest because I don’t support their candidate, I’m somehow a racist, sexist, or a homophobe.

HILLARY, THE SUPREME COURT AND THE CONSTITUTION

Friday, October 21st, 2016

For all you undecided voters out there, this is the number one reason to vote for Donald Trump !   Nancy
THE WALL STREET JOURNAL

Hillary’s New Constitution

Clinton explains how she’ll gut the First and Second Amendments.

October 21, 2016

Donald Trump is no legal scholar, but at Wednesday’s presidential debate he showed a superior grasp of the U.S. Constitution than didHillary Clinton. Amid the overwrought liberal fainting about Mr. Trump’s bluster over accepting the election result (see below), Mrs. Clinton revealed a view of the Supreme Court that is far more threatening to American liberty.

Start with her answer to moderator Chris Wallace’s question about the role of the courts. “The Supreme Court should represent all of us. That’s how I see the Court,” she said. “And the kind of people that I would be looking to nominate to the court would be in the great tradition of standing up to the powerful, standing up on our behalf of our rights as Americans.”

Where to begin with that one? The Supreme Court doesn’t—or shouldn’t—“represent” anyone. In the U.S. system that’s the job of the elected branches. The courts are appointed, not elected, so they can be nonpartisan adjudicators of competing legal claims.

Mrs. Clinton is suggesting that the Court should be a super-legislature that vindicates the will of what she calls “the American people,” which apparently excludes “the powerful.” But last we checked, the Constitution protects everyone, even the powerful. The law is supposed to protect individual rights, not an abstraction called “the people.”

The Democrat went downhill from there, promising to appoint judges who would essentially rewrite the First and Second Amendments. Asked about the 2008 Heller decision that upheld an individual right to bear arms, Mrs. Clinton claimed to support “reasonable regulation.” She said she criticized  Heller because it overturned a District of Columbia law intended merely “to protect toddlers from guns and so they wanted people with guns to safely store them.”

Toddlers had nothing to do with it. What Mrs. Clinton calls “reasonable” was an outright ban on handguns. The D.C. law allowed the city’s police chief to award some temporary licenses—but not even the police officer plaintiff in the case could persuade the District to let him register a handgun to be kept at his home.

Anyone who did lawfully possess a gun had to keep it unloaded and either disassembled or bound by a trigger lock at all times, ensuring it would be inoperable and perhaps useless for self-defense. AsAntonin Scalia wrote for the Heller majority, “Few laws in the history of our Nation have come close to the severe restriction of the District’s handgun ban.”
