Liberal financier George Soros may fund groups that attack fellow billionaires Charles and David Koch for their donations to conservative political groups, but ask him what he thinks of the Koch brothers, and the Hungarian-American businessman plays nice.
Koch industries (pronounced “coke”) is an energy conglomerate that has recently come under fire from liberal groups like the Center for American Progress — which Soros partially funds — for supporting political organizations that advocate against climate change legislation and other libertarian and conservative causes.
The Daily Caller caught up with Soros after a think tank panel discussion Thursday in Washington, D.C. When asked what he thought of the Kochs, it appeared Soros wasn’t allowed to say much.
“Well I…” Soros began, before being immediately interrupted by an aide.
“What do you know about Kochs’ charitable foundations?” the aide asked in a tone that suggested this had been rehearsed.
“I don’t know it,” Soros said quickly. (more…)

WASHINGTON — While inspecting the body politic, one encounters one clear sign that Liberalism is dead. It is the condition of our political discourse. Polite commentators note that the dialogue is “rancorous.” Some say toxic. Actually it is worse than that. It is nonexistent.
From the right, from the sophisticated right, there is an attempt to engage the Liberals. Budget Chairman Paul Ryan just did it by presenting a budget that cried out for intelligent response. President Barack Obama’s response was to invite Chairman Ryan to sit in the front row for Obama’s “fiscal policy” speech at George Washington University. There, Obama heaped scorn on an astonished Ryan and his work. He did not even mention Ryan’s name. This is what Obama calls an “adult” debate?
From the rest of the Liberals there is generally silence. They prattle on about Glenn Beck or Sarah Palin, but they pay almost no heed to the think tanks on the right, to their journals of opinion, or to the writers and figures of heft. The Liberals are dead. (more…)

Excerpt From This Article: Here in Washington, D.C., leftist activists at MoveOn.org are co-hosting a rally Saturday with the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). But behind the scenes, The Blaze has exclusively learned the rally has actually been organized by the International Socialist Organization.
Last fall, leftist ideological groups of socialists and communists teamed up with American labor unions to march together for “One Nation.” Now, as labor leaders struggle to maintain a stranglehold on collective bargaining privileges in Wisconsin, the same groups are once again marching together under a banner claiming unions are the heart of the American dream.
As we’ve reported, former White House green jobs czar Van Jones this week issued a rallying call for the progressive movement to “renew itself and become again a national force with which to be reckoned.” On Saturday, progressive groups and labor unions are reportedly planning to hold marches of solidarity in all 50 states.

Thursday, February 24th As “Vladimir”, I’ve written at length about the destructive energy policies of the Left and of the Obama Administration. Specifically, their hostility toward domestic producers and the producing states will inevitably lead to higher unemployment and a stagnant economy in the near term; long term, they imperil our national security.
What could possibly motivate them?
Some say that Obama is merely the puppet of an evil conspiracy which is bent on our destruction.
Others say that Obama thinks he is acting in the country’s best interest, but that his perspective is limited and his worldview is skewed.
It is important for us to act as if it is the latter, and here’s why.
If we act as if we believe that world events are under the control of evil masterminds (whether it be the Illuminati, Zionists, the Trilateral Commission or George Soros), we do three things: 1) we invest the opposition with unassailable power; 2) we confine ourselves to a fringe movement; and, perhaps most significantly, 3) we excuse our own inaction, because, after all, we’re powerless.
Occam’s razor dictates that the simplest explanation is usually the best one. If you have to connect too many dots, chances are you’re connecting them wrong. That’s where conspiracy theories usually fall apart.
We don’t need to figure out who Obama’s puppet master is, or if he has one. He has told us his strategy, and he is carrying it out. (more…)
