J’ACCUSE – DERSHOWITZ – THE LEFT IS TRYING TO SILENCE ME

Thursday, July 18th, 2019

This is an incredible article written by Alan Dershowitz of the attempts by the Left to silence and smear  him because he has been supportive of President Trump, Prime Minister Netanyahu  and the state of Israel.    Nancy

J’accuse — The New Yorker Is Trying to Silence Me

by Alan M. Dershowitz
July 18, 2019 at 4:00 am

I recently learned, from a source close to The New Yorker magazine, that its editor, David Remnick, has commissioned a hit piece against me for the explicit purpose of silencing my defense of President Trump, Prime Minister Netanyahu, and the State of Israel. Remnick despises Trump and Netanyahu, and is well known for his strong anti-Israel bias. Remnick explicitly told people that I must be silenced because mine has been the most persuasive voice in favor of what Remnick feels pose dangers to values he holds dear, and that he will use the credibility of The New Yorker to accomplish this goal.

The New Yorker used to be a great literary magazine. I read it for its short stories, profiles of literary figures, film and drama reviews, humorous vignettes, and clever cartoons. But since David Remnick took over as editor, left wing politics have trumped non-partisan literature. Profiles have become personal attacks on Remnick’s political enemies and hagiographies of his political friends.

Among Remnick’s most persistent enemies are Benjamin Netanyahu and Donald Trump. Ad hominem attacks on the Israeli Prime Minister include mocking his name (“Netanyahoo”) and calling him a “mendacious mouse.” Remnick consistently singles out Israel for condemnation, while ignoring real violations of human rights.

An op-ed in the Jerusalem Post observed that “under Remnick’s reign, The New Yorker, and particularly Remnick himself, repeatedly and obsessively focuses on what Remnick perceives to be the failings of the state of Israel,” accusing it of “medievalism,” “apartheid” and “xenophobia.” Its one-sided views have been “posted prominently on the website of “Intifada – The Voice of Palestine.”

The Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America has characterized Remnick’s writings as “almost frantic agitation” against the Netanyahu government. Israel and/or its leaders are scorned for being “bigoted,” “arrogant” and “stubborn,” and for displaying “ineptitude” and a penchant for “fantasy.” The Palestinian leaders, on the other hand, are “moderate and constructive.” Remnick’s attacks on President Trump are even more ad hominem, calling him “unhinged,” “chaotic,” “corrupt,” “infantile” and comparing him to Nero.

The New Yorker’s reputation for objectivity, fairness and scrupulous fact checking has been replaced by a growing awareness that nothing it publishes should be taken as true without rigorous independent checking, especially when it comes to Israel, Netanyahu, and Trump. The same is true when it comes to public figures Remnick believes are supporters of his sworn enemies. I know, because Remnick has arranged for a like-minded attack journalist named Connie Bruck to target me in a mendacious hit piece designed to still my voice on Israel, Netanyahu, and Trump.

CAN ILHAN OMAR OVERCOME HER PREJUDICE ?

Saturday, July 13th, 2019

This is one of the best articles I have ever read.  Ayaan Hirsi Ali is an incredibly perceptive woman and she writes beautifully .   Nancy
THE WALL STREET JOURNAL

Can Ilhan Omar Overcome Her Prejudice?

I was born in Somalia and grew up amid pervasive Muslim anti-Semitism. Hate is hard to unlearn without coming to terms with how you learned it.

July 12, 2019 6:24 pm ET

Excerpt from this article: The problem of Muslim anti-Semitism is much bigger than Ilhan Omar. Condemning her, expelling her from the House Foreign Affairs Committee, or defeating her in 2020 won’t make the problem go away.

Islamists have understood well how to couple Muslim anti-Semitism with the American left’s vague notion of “social justice.” They have succeeded in couching their agenda in the progressive framework of the oppressed versus the oppressor. Identity politics and victimhood culture also provide Islamists with the vocabulary to deflect their critics with accusations of “Islamophobia,” “white privilege” and “insensitivity.” A perfect illustration was the way Ms. Omar and her allies were able to turn a House resolution condemning her anti-Semitism into a garbled “intersectional” rant in which Muslims emerged as the most vulnerable minority in the league table of victimhood.

I once opened a speech by confessing to a crowd of Jews that I used to hate them. It was 2006 and I was a young native of Somalia who’d been elected to the Dutch Parliament. The American Jewish Committee was giving me its Moral Courage Award. I felt honored and humbled, but a little dishonest if I didn’t own up to my anti-Semitic past. So I told them how I’d learned to blame the Jews for everything.

Fast-forward to 2019. A freshman congresswoman from Minnesota has been infuriating the Jewish community and discomfiting the Democratic leadership with her expressions of anti-Semitism. Like me, Ilhan Omar was born in Somalia and exposed at an early age to Muslim anti-Semitism.

Some of the members of my 2006 AJC audience have asked me to explain and respond to Ms. Omar’s comments, including her equivocal apologies. Their main question is whether it is possible for Ms. Omar to unlearn her evident hatred of Jews—and if so, how to help.

In my experience it is difficult, perhaps impossible, to unlearn hate without coming to terms with how you learned to hate. Most Americans are familiar with the classic Western flavors of anti-Semitism: the Christian, European, white-supremacist and Communist types. But little attention has been paid to the special case of Muslim anti-Semitism. That is a pity because today it is anti-Semitism’s most zealous, most potent and most underestimated form.

I never heard the term “anti-Semitism” until I moved to the Netherlands in my 20s. But I had firsthand familiarity with its Muslim variety. As a child in Somalia, I was a passive consumer of anti-Semitism. Things would break, conflicts would arise, shortages would occur—and adults would blame it all on the Jews.

When I was a little girl, my mom often lost her temper with my brother, with the grocer or with a neighbor. She would scream or curse under her breath “Yahud!” followed by a description of the hostility, ignominy or despicable behavior of the subject of her wrath. It wasn’t just my mother; grown-ups around me exclaimed “Yahud!”the way Americans use the F-word. I was made to understand that Jews—Yahud—were all bad. No one took any trouble to build a rational framework around the idea—hardly necessary, since there were no Jews around. But it set the necessary foundation for the next phase of my development.

At 15 I became an Islamist by joining the Muslim Brotherhood. I began attending religious and civil-society events, where I received an education in the depth and breadth of Jewish villainy. This was done in two ways.

The first was theological. We were taught that the Jews betrayed our prophet Muhammad. Through Quranic verses (such as 7:166, 2:65 and 5:60), we learned that Allah had eternally condemned them, that they were not human but descendants of pigs and monkeys, that we should aspire to kill them wherever we found them. We were taught to pray: “Dear God, please destroy the Jews, the Zionists, the state of Israel. Amen.”

We were taught that the Jews occupied the Holy Land of Palestine. We were shown pictures of mutilated bodies, dead children, wailing widows and weeping orphans. Standing over them in military uniform were Israeli soldiers with large guns. We were told their killing of Palestinians was wanton, unprovoked and an expression of their hatred for Muslims.

PA. TOWNHALL WITH CAIR – SENATOR BOB CASESY ORGANIZES

Pennsylvania: US Senator Bob Casey and state reps organize events on “Islamophobia” with Hamas-linked CAIR

JUN 30, 2019   11:16 AM  BY ROBERT SPENCER18 COMMENTS

Would Casey and the state representatives co-organized events with a Nazi group? What’s the difference? CAIR is an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror funding case — so named by the Justice Department. CAIR officials have repeatedly refused to denounce Hamas and Hizballah as terrorist groups. Several former CAIR officials have been convicted of various crimes related to jihad terror. CAIR’s cofounder and longtime Board chairman (Omar Ahmad), as well as its chief spokesman (Ibrahim Hooper), have made Islamic supremacist statements about how Islamic law should be imposed in the U.S. (Ahmad denies this, but the original reporter stands by her story.) CAIR chapters frequently distribute pamphlets telling Muslims not to cooperate with law enforcement. CAIR has opposed virtually every anti-terror measure that has been proposed or implemented and has been declared a terror organization by the United Arab Emirates. CAIR’s Hussam Ayloush in 2017 called for the overthrow of the U.S. government. CAIR’s national outreach manager is an open supporter of Hamas.

Casey is a Democrat, but there are plenty of Republican Useful Idiots as well. That any American politician of any political camp would appear at any function of this unsavory group speaks to the confusion of our age, and of how casual U.S. officials have become in their acceptance of hatred for the country they are supposed to be serving.

“Pennsylvania Officials Join Bigoted CAIR for ‘Islamophobia’ Events,” by Steven Emerson, IPT News, June 27, 2019:

Last week, the Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT) identified charitable organizations that recently showcased radical Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) activists with a history of bigoted and anti-Semitic views. Philanthropic organizations and foundations should be held accountable for failing to do their due diligence and looking into the backgrounds of the members they promote publicly. U.S. politicians, however, must be held to an even higher standard while representing their constituencies.

Unfortunately, state and local officials participated in several events co-hosted by CAIR’s Philadelphia chapter (CAIR-PA) earlier this month.

On June 6, U.S. Sen. Bob Casey, D-Pa., organized a town hall meeting at Dickinson College and invited CAIR-PA Advisory Board member Aaysha Noor to moderate, according to a CAIR-PA update. Another town hall, taking place June 13 in Devon, Pa., “was co-sponsored by the offices of [state] Rep. Joe Webster and Rep. Melissa Shusterman.” On June 19, CAIR-PA co-hosted a second town hall meeting in Carlisle, Pa. including state representatives Movita Johnson-Harrell and Patty Kim. Both meetings focused on “Islamophobia” and condemning anti-Muslim bigotry.

PALESTINIANS, JEWS – THE REAL HISTORY

Tuesday, May 21st, 2019

Rashida Tlaib’s Monstrous Distortion of History

BY: Aaron Kliegman

May 14, 2019

Rashida Tlaib is apparently proud of her ancestors encouraging Hitler, preventing Jews from escaping Nazi rule, and waging war to crush any hopes of establishing a Jewish state, arguing that, somehow, Palestinian Arabs protected the Jewish people. Either that, or the first-term Democratic congresswoman is intentionally misleading the public, or she is just wildly ignorant of Middle Eastern history. There are literally no other explanations for Tlaib’s comments to Yahoo News’s podcast “Skullduggery” last week. Vile, bizarre, and historically false, her recent remarks need to be refuted not only because of their corrosive effect on humanity’s collective intellect, but also because of their seemingly malicious intent.

“There’s always kind of a calming feeling, I tell folks, when I think of the Holocaust, and the tragedy of the Holocaust, and the fact that it was my ancestors—Palestinians—who lost their land and some lost their lives, their livelihood, their human dignity, their existence in many ways, have been wiped out, and some people’s passports,” said Tlaib, the first Palestinian-American woman elected to Congress. “And, just all of it was in the name of trying to create a safe haven for Jews, post-the Holocaust, post-the tragedy and the horrific persecution of Jews across the world at that time. And, I love the fact that it was my ancestors that provided that, right, in many ways, but they did it in a way that took their human dignity away and it was forced on them.”

So what is the problem? First, never say the Holocaust evokes a “calming feeling.” Let us examine the context for a moment. Tlaib is saying that, when she thinks of the Holocaust, she does not become saddened thinking of the slaughter of six million Jews, as most people do. Instead, she becomes calm while recalling the deeds of her Arab ancestors. It is just a bizarre thing to say.

Second, there were no Palestinians, as we understand the term today, in the Middle East in the 1930s and 1940s, just Arabs. There is a reason why, in 1947, the United Nations recommended the creation of a Jewish state and an Arab state in Mandatory Palestine, not a Palestinian one. No one called the Arabs living in Palestine at the time the Palestinian people, including the residents themselves, nor did anyone define them as a unique nation. In fact, Jews living there were also called Palestinians. Moreover, during World War II, Arabs across the Middle East saw themselves as part of one nationality. For example, an official German record of the meeting between Hitler and the grand mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin al-Husseini, in Berlin in 1941 says, “The Arabs were striving for the independence and unity [emphasis mine] of Palestine, Syria, and Iraq.” Jordan could be included in that list, too. Palestinians, like Syrians and Iraqis, did not seem themselves as Palestinians or Syrians or Iraqis, but rather as Arabs, united in part by a clear goal: preventing the creation of a Jewish state on what they saw—and too many still see—in absolute terms as Arab, Muslim land. One final point: the name “Palestine” comes from the Romans, who in the second century CE crushed a Jewish revolt and renamed the area of Judea as Palestina—a reference to the Philistines, traditional enemies of the Jews—in an attempt to minimize Jewish ties to the land of Israel. In other words, the name “Palestine” has nothing to do with the Palestinian people.

THE GRAND JIHADIC STRATEGY OF THE MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD

Wednesday, March 27th, 2019

Now that the Russian Hoax hoopla has finally died down, perhaps the media will take seriously the threat from the Grand Jihadic Strategy of the Muslim Brotherhood to infiltrate and eventually overcome America.  Thanks to Mike Scruggs for sharing. Nancy

The Grand Jihadic Strategy of the Muslim Brotherhood

Destroying America from Within

By Mike Scruggs

Mike Scruggs- The Muslim Brotherhood is the most powerful Muslim political organization in the world. Its motto is: “Allah is our objective; the Prophet is our leader; the Koran is our law; Jihad is our way; dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope.”

Muslim Brotherhood founder Hassan al-BannaThe Muslim Brotherhood (Ikhwan in Arabic) was established in Egypt in 1928 by Hassan al-Banna, a devout Muslim school teacher, and six followers. Al-Banna, his followers, and many Muslims in Egypt believed that Islam had become shamefully secularized and marginalized during British Colonial Rule and that of the secular Muslim leaders that followed after Egypt’s independence in 1922. Moreover, British military and political influence continued.

The Brotherhood was established as a Muslim revivalist organization with the goal of bringing Egypt and eventually all other Muslim nations back to the pure Islam of the Koran and the teachings of Muhammad. As purists, they also advocated expanding Islam over the whole world by peaceful or violent means, whichever is required.

By analogy, it was a “reformation” to turn Islam back to the doctrines and practices of its founders.

By 1938, the Brotherhood had 200,000 members in Egypt. By the end of 1948 and the birth of Israel, the Ikhwan had 2,000,000 members in Egypt, about 10 percent of the total population including women and children.

The Muslim Brotherhood operates primarily within the Sunni branch of Islam, competing for world dominance with the numerically smaller Shia branch led by Iran. The Brotherhood’s modern operating philosophy is often called “Civilization Jihad” or stealth Jihad.

They typically work by deception, infiltration, and subversion until they are strong enough to take power and enforce their dominance by the sword. Hamas and Islamic Jihad were two of their first terrorist branches, but they also had a significant role in establishing al-Qaeda, which is essentially a spinoff of Hamas.

Similarly, ISIS is essentially a spinoff of Al-Qaeda. Oil money, especially from Saudi Arabia and Qatar, has been one of their most powerful resources for propagandizing, bribing, and corrupting political, civil, education, banking, and church leaders in the West.

Although the Muslim Brotherhood is a Sunni organization, they often cooperate with Shia Muslims and even the secular Left against common enemies. The Muslim Brotherhood also has immense influence in the 57-nation member Organization for Islamic Cooperation within the United Nations.

The Brotherhood’s strategic goals in the United States were uncovered by an FBI raid in August 2004 on the Annandale, Virginia, home of Ismail Elbarasse, suspected of fundraising for the Hamas terrorist group and planning to sabotage the Chesapeake Bay Bridge in Maryland. Among the 80 boxes of Muslim Brotherhood archives was an “Explanatory Memorandum” of the Brotherhood’s game plan for bringing America down by infiltration and subversion from within.

ISNA CONVENTION USES SHAME, FEAR TO STIR RADICAL AGENDA

Wednesday, September 5th, 2018

SEPTEMBER 4, 2018 11:22 AM

ISNA Convention Uses Shame, Fear to Stir Radical Agenda

avatarby Steven Emerson

In a year when Muslim political candidates are breaking new ground or falling just short of doing so, it’s not surprising to see politics dominate the country’s largest annual gathering of Muslim Americans.

But the political sessions at the annual Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) convention in Houston, Texas were far from celebrations. Rather, they cast a dire picture for Muslims in America.

Speakers warned of “Islamophobia” as a dire threat lurking just outside their doors. And while a travel ban upheld by US courts targets people from only five Muslim-majority countries among dozens, the policy was repeatedly described as a complete “Muslim ban.”

Leading the charge was Linda Sarsour, a co-chair of the national Women’s March and founder of a political activist group called MPower Change. Sarsour spoke to at least four separate sessions during the conference, with ISNA President Azhar Azeez introducing her as “the most famous, known activist in America today.”

Her tone often was not aimed at inspiring Muslims to be more politically active, as much as it was to shame them for not doing so. If they aren’t sufficiently engaged in advocating for the Palestinian cause, she said, “you as an American Muslim are complicit in the occupation of Palestinians, in the murder of Palestinian protesters. So when we start debating in the Muslim community about Palestine, it tells me a lot about you and about the type of faith that you have in your heart.”

Worse still, “if you’re on the side of the oppressor, or you’re defending the oppressor, or you’re actually trying to humanize the oppressor,” she said, “then that’s a problem sisters and brothers, and we got to be able to say: that is not the position of the Muslim American community.”

That seems like a slap at Muslim activists who have engaged in dialogue with Zionists and Israelis, and even traveled to Israel under a program financed by the Shalom Hartman Institute. Wajahat Ali, for example, was disinvited from speaking at this weekend’s convention for failing to make the Palestinian cause his paramount issue as a Muslim.

Sarsour went on: “In fact, when you are silent, you are the one that’s not a patriot and you are the one that’s not a true American and not proud to be an American.”

TRUMP – IT’S ALL ABOUT LEVERAGE

Wednesday, August 8th, 2018

THE WASHINGTON TIMES

Trump and the centers of gravity

– – L.  Scott Ligamfelter is a retired  U.S. Army colonel, combat veteran and Middle East Foreign Area Officer.  He also served in the Virginia General Assembly for 16 years.     Wednesday, June 20, 2018

ANALYSIS/OPINION:

June 25, 2018

President Donald Trump, like everyone alive today, never met Prussian military theorist Carl Von Clausewitz, but the author of “Vom Kriege” (“On War”) would have found pleasant company with the man who inspired “The Art of the Deal.” For Clausewitz, war involved politics in addition to “other means” to arrive at a “deal”; in other words to obtain the objectives of a nation at war.

For Mr. Trump, it’s about maximizing one’s leverage in obtaining the “deal,” one of his 11 tenets in the art of deal-making. And in that regard, Mr. Trump has demonstrated that he understands both the Clausewitzian concept of the “center of gravity” — the basis of an opponent’s power at the operational, strategic or political level — and the art of leveraging national power. Three examples are instructive: North Korea, Iran and ISIS.

North Korea’s center of gravity is the survival of the regime of Kim Jong-un. It’s a criminal cartel, but worse yet, one whose sidearms are a host of conventional artillery keenly aimed at South Korea and a nuclear threat recklessly pointed at the world. Which is why the president wasted no time putting “Little Rocket Man” in a very hot seat by ratcheting up the tough talk in response to Mr. Kim’s verbal threats and missile-launch intimidation.

Moreover he jettisoned the effete “strategic patience” approach of previous administrations and imposed “maximum pressure” on the Hermit Kingdom. That story is playing out now following the Singapore summit. Mr. Kim knows his regime is at stake. Mr. Trump does, too. Mr. Kim would be wise not to trifle with him.

MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD’S NETWORK IN AMERICA – JOHN GUANDOLO

THE ALEX NITZBERG SHOW

John Guandolo Discusses The Muslim Brotherhood’s Network in America, Attacks the Media

By Alex Nitzberg    Alex Nitzberg is a freelance conservative journalist and commentator and the host of “The Alex Nitzberg Show” podcast. Follow him on FacebookTwitter and Instagram.   May 17, 2017

The Muslim Brotherhood operates a nationwide network of Islamic organizations actively working to subvert America and establish an Islamic State governed by Sharia law, former FBI agent John Guandolo explained during an interview on “The Alex Nitzberg Show.” Guandolo, the founder of UnderstandingtheThreat.com, said:

“There are thousands of organizations whose stated objective, if they’re Muslim Brotherhood, is to wage civilization jihad in order to impose Islamic State here.”

He says that he conservatively estimates that “well over seventy percent” of the “over 3000 mosques, Islamic centers in the United States right now,” belong to “the Muslim Brotherhood’s network.” During the interview, Guandolo explained:

“…the 2008 Holy Land Foundation trial that was adjudicated in Dallas, Texas was the culmination of a 15-year FBI investigation—it was the largest terrorism financing and Hamas trial in American history ever successfully prosecuted—and it revealed that the prominent Islamic organizations in the United States are a part of a movement led by the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood to establish an Islamic state under Sharia, the same objective as ISIS and Al Qaeda.”

While the case yielded “hundreds of unindicted coconspirators” Guandolo said that plans to indict “the leader of the Council on American Islamic Relations, Omar Ahmad, and CAIR itself” never came to fruition because Eric Holder “shut that down and we have not prosecuted anyone else since HLF was convicted…”
