“It’s not just social media companies or your right to be on Twitter, your right to be on Facebook. It’s everything. Email delivery services, online fundraising platforms … It’s every aspect of your digital life,” says Heritage Foundation research fellow Kara Frederick.

From Twitter to GoFundMe, digital platforms have shut down accounts, fundraisers, or online transactions and removed people from aspects of digital life because of their political views. “These practices are frankly mirroring that of what China does in the social credit system,” she says.

Frederick previously served as a senior intelligence analyst for the U.S. Naval Special Warfare Command, and spent six years as a counterterrorism analyst at the Department of Defense. Later, she helped create and lead Facebook’s global counterterrorism program.

In this episode, she breaks down what she sees as an evolving Big Tech totalitarianism, and offers a strategy to rein it in.

‘MEDICARE FOR ALL ‘ EXPLAINED

Tuesday, October 29th, 2019

THE DAILY SIGNAL

HEALTH CARECOMMENTARY

‘Medicare for All’ Actually Isn’t Medicare at All

Kevin Pham  / Kevin Pham, a medical doctor, is a contributor to The Daily Signal and a former graduate fellow in health policy at The Heritage Foundation.   October 28, 2019

Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., was recently on comedian Jimmy Kimmel’s late night show to discuss, among other items on his agenda, his vision for health care in America.

In one interesting statement, Sanders described the rollout of his plan: “I want to expand Medicare to include dental care, hearing aids, and eyeglasses, and then what I want to do is lower the eligibility age the first year from 65 down to 55, then to 45, then to 35, then we cover everybody.”

There is a sleight of hand here.

What Sanders seems to be describing is the gradual expansion of the existing Medicare program, which currently covers Americans 65 and over, to include everyone eventually. In reality, Sanders’ signature bill, “Medicare for All,” is anything but Medicare.

The demand for socialism is on the rise from young Americans today. But is socialism even morally sound? Find out more now >>

Medicare comes in several forms, including Parts A and B, which pay for inpatient and outpatient visits along a fee schedule with premiums and deductibles, and Part C, also known as Medicare Advantage.

This is the system that covers 60 million Americans and enjoys high satisfaction ratings.

Medicare for All would scrap all of this.

One of the most misleading aspects of Medicare for All is that it is not Medicare at all.

MY BRUSH WITH PERSONAL DESTRUCTION – STEPHEN MOORE

Sunday, May 5th, 2019

If I remember correctly, wasn’t the unsealing of Obama’s opponent’s divorce papers  in either his Illinois or  U.S. Senate race, lead to Obama’s  win over his opponent? Very  Interesting    The sad state of American politics of personal destruction as conducted by the Left.   Nancy
THE WALL STREET JOURNAL
MY BRUSH WITH PERSONAL DESTRUCTION
By Stephen Moore    Mr. Moore is a senior fellow at the Heritage Foundation and an economic consultant with FreedomWorks.  He was a senior economic adviser to the Trump campaign in 2016.
May 3, 2019

When President Trump asked me to serve as a member of the Federal Reserve Board, I was honored. I never imagined the storm that would follow. The left and the media instantly launched a relentless campaign against me. Last week a reporter who has covered the Fed for 30 years told me he’d never seen anything like it. On Thursday I reluctantly threw in the towel and asked the president not to nominate me.

I knew that many of my ideas on monetary policy were controversial and outside the box. That’s why the president picked me. My central argument is that economic growth does not cause inflation—an assault on the core belief of the Keynesian economists at the Fed, whose fear of supply-side growth has often misdirected monetary policy, most recently late last year. As someone who worked with Mr. Trump as a senior economic adviser to his campaign, I am thrilled that 3% to 4% growth with stable prices has been achieved, and I believe it can be sustained. I also believe the Fed should stop targeting interest rates and instead focus on a stable dollar by following commodity prices along with other inflation measures as a leading indicator of whether prices are rising or falling.

I was naive. I believed that to be confirmed I would simply need to defend these ideas and my free-market economic philosophy in general. I relished that debate, especially because so many of my harshest critics were completely wrong about the Trump economy.

A majority in the Senate viewed my economic-policy expertise favorably, and my confirmation seemed likely. It helped my case that I had been one of the most outspoken critics of the Fed in December, when it raised interest rates. After a 4,000-point collapse in the Dow Jones Industrial Average, Chairman Jerome Powell early this year backed away from future rate increases and disavowed his December statement that the Fed’s asset sales were on “autopilot.” The market and the economy sprang back to life.

What did me in was not my economic ideas but gutter campaign tactics and personal assaults. I’ve been called an adulterer, a misogynist, a tax cheat, a deadbeat dad, antigay and mentally unfit. A Washington Post editorial warned that I was a “dangerous” pick for the Fed, and a columnist said I could cause a “global financial calamity.” They must imagine I have superheroic powers of persuasion. If appointed, I would have been one of seven Fed governors.

The Connection Between Russia and 2 Green Groups Fighting Fracking in US

New Yorkers who are missing out on the natural gas revolution could be victims of Russian spy operations that fund popular environmental groups, current and former U.S. government officials and experts on Russia worry.

Natural gas development of the celebrated Marcellus Shale deposits has spurred jobs and other economic growth in neighboring Pennsylvania. But not in New York, which nearly 10 years ago banned the process of hydraulic fracturing, also known as fracking, to produce natural gas.

Two environmental advocacy groups that successfully lobbied against fracking in New York each received more than $10 million in grants from a foundation in California that got financial support from a Bermuda company congressional investigators linked to the Russians, public documents show.

The environmental groups Natural Resources Defense Council and the Sierra Club Foundation received millions of dollars in grants from the San Francisco-based Sea Change Foundation.

The liberal Left continue to push their radical agenda against American values. The good news is there is a solution. Find out more >>

“Follow the money trail, and this [New York] ban on fracking could be viewed as an example of successful Russian espionage,” Ken Stiles, a CIA veteran of 29 years who now teaches at Virginia Tech, told The Daily Signal.

To Stiles and other knowledgeable observers, this looks like an actual case of knowing or unknowing collusion with Russia.

VIDEO – THE EMP THREAT (ELECTRO MAGNETIC PULSE ATTACK)

Tuesday, September 5th, 2017

With the  North Korea threat  again in the news regarding their latest belligerent testing of a hydrogen bomb and successful missile launches, attention is being given to the possibility of an EMP strike (Electro Magnetic Pulse attack).   An EMP attack could shut down the electrical grid of  large sections of the United States for months at  a time and cause a tremendous amount of loss of life.  The threat of an EMP  needs to be taken very seriously.
ICON presented  a presentation on the EMP Threat last year on May 17, 2016.  This may be an excellent time to refresh our memories on the information that was presented at this lecture.  Please see the link below of the video of the lecture by James Carafano regarding the EMP Threat.     Nancy
