TRUMP RESTORES WORK REQUIREMENTS FOR WELFARE

Tuesday, September 5th, 2017

Trump moves to restore
work requirements for receiving welfare

 – The Washington Times – Wednesday, August 30, 2017′

The Trump administration moved Wednesday to reimpose work requirements for Americans on welfare, revoking an Obama-era policy that had urged states to apply for waivers exempting the poor from having to show they were either getting job training or looking for work.
Requiring work was a key part of the 1996 welfare reform law enacted by a GOP-led Congress and signed by then-President Bill Clinton, and Mr. Trump’s move restores the law as written.
“The waiver option offered by the Obama administration is being replaced today by an expectation that work should always be encouraged as a condition for receiving welfare,” said Steven Wagner, the Health and Human Services Department’s acting assistant secretary for children and families.

WHITE HOUSE PETITIONS

WE THE PEOPLE – YOUR VOICE IN THE WHITE HOUSE

petitions.whitehouse.gov/

THIS URL is important.  There are various petitions on the White House site…many are from left wingers…but there are ones there we should ALL think about signing. The one at the very end is the one re Hillary’s emails.  There are others such as declaring Black Lives Matter for what it really is and one for Soros….to indicate what HE’s doing.  I have no clue what the ramifications will be for putting your name on such a petition but the Hillary one is certainly one that needs support.

L.A. MADE $1.3 BILLION IN ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT WELFARE PAYOUTS IN 2 YEARS

Friday, August 4th, 2017

This is taxpayer money that could instead be used for rebuilding our roads, bridges, airports,  medical  research, failing inner city school systems, job retraining programs, the list of worthwhile programs is endless.   Instead, the money is being spent on those who are here illegally.  Have you all heard of  Cloward-Piven, which is  overwhelming the system until it collapses !
Earlier this evening, I posted  an article on California’s expansion of Medicaid (Medi-Cal).  Just one more example of overwhelming the system with people on welfare.     What is needed is job training programs to get  people out of poverty, not paying them to  stay in poverty.    I think it was Ben Carson  who said you don’t want to make people so comfortable in poverty that they stay in poverty !  One of our readers wrote to me today that she owns a small business and she offered a job to someone who declined  the job offer  because the person made more money staying at home and collecting welfare.   Nancy

LA made $1.3B in illegal immigrant welfare payouts in just 2 years

Illegal immigrant families received nearly $1.3 billion in Los Angeles County welfare money during 2015 and 2016, nearly one-quarter of the amount spent on the county’s entire needy population, according to data obtained by Fox News.

The data was obtained from the county Department of Public Social Services — which is responsible for doling out the benefits — and gives a snapshot of the financial costs associated with sanctuary and related policies.

The sanctuary county of Los Angeles is an illegal immigration epicenter, with the largest concentration of any county in the nation, according to a study from the Migration Policy Institute. The county also allows illegal immigrant parents with children born in the United States to seek welfare and food stamp benefits.

Robert Rector, a Heritage Foundation senior fellow who has written extensive studies on poverty and illegal immigration, said the costs represent “the tip of the iceberg.”

MY HOME TOWN IS GONE

Wednesday, June 14th, 2017

Thanks to Sandra Sauer-Bernard of Virginia  for sharing.  This is a real eye-opening account of how refugee resettlement is changing one small town in New York State.   Nancy

My Home Town Is Gone   by Loretta Brady

Hi! This is a blog post I threw together in response to the recent increase in refugee numbers by Trump’s State Department, in order to convey what it is like living in an Islamizing area. I gave a talk at a luncheon a few months ago that was basically relating my story of how my hometown has been Islamized by refugee resettlement. So it makes sense to do a blog post.

I’m from the Utica, NY area. Utica is the city nicknamed by the UN “the city that loves refugees!” Soon every American city will be a city that loves refugees! Get ready! So I would like to tell you what it is like living in an area where the major city is about 25% (or more) refugee, mainly Muslim

I was born in Utica, a “faded industrial town” along the Mohawk River/Erie Canal corridor, and lived there until I was 8-years-old when my family moved to a nearby small college town. I loved living in Utica because there were lots of families on my block, big Catholic families with lots of kids. You could yard-hop, checking out who was available for play. You could bike around the neighborhood. There were block parties in the summer. My grandmother lived up the street. Life was good.

My father and his father were born and lived in Utica, NY. My father was a judge in Utica, like his father before him. The Catholic school my father attended is now a community center for refugees. After I moved back to the Utica area as an adult I used to recite “Full fathom five” to the children as we drove by my father’s former Catholic school. (Nothing of him that doth fade,/But doth suffer a sea change/Into something rich and strange.)

When I had my first child I was living in New York City. Her father and I divorced when she was a baby, and when she was two-years-old, I beat a hasty retreat back home to Upstate NY. There I met my husband. We got married, we had babies (in that order, ahem), and we settled down outside of Utica.

When I moved back home one of the first things I noticed was that an old Methodist church was being converted into a bright shiny white new mosque. The local paper touted this as immense progress and featured a local woman who had attended the church as a child and was positively brimming with joy it was being turned into a mosque. If that is the general sentiment, then it’s odd that my county went for Trump, right? There are at least two mosques in the city now. They just built another.

Where do I start? Utica had always been “the city that loves refugees” but under Obama things accelerated. Muslim immigrants were suddenly in these local bureaucratic positions where they had power over you. This, in what is probably one of the most corrupt states in the union, where the power of the state is everything.

The social worker at my daughter’s school was a Muslim immigrant. I looked for her profile on the school website, I googled her, I could not find information on her background, resume, qualifications, or educational attainments.

$1 BILLION PAID IN BENEFITS TO THOSE WITHOUT A SSN

Friday, February 24th, 2017

Social Security Administration Paid $1 Billion in Benefits to Those Without a SSN

by KATHERINE RODRIGUEZ  February 23, 2017

The Social Security Administration paid $1 billion in benefits to those who did not have a Social Security number (SSN), according to a recent audit.

The agency’s inspector general found errors in how the government documented representative payees or individuals who are designated to receive retirement or disability benefits on behalf of those who cannot manage the benefits themselves, the Washington Free Beacon reported.

The audit, released Friday, found thousands of instances where no SSN was found on file.

The agency paid $1 billion to 22,426 representative payees who “did not have an SSN” and had not kept any paper applications supporting an individual’s case to receive benefits on someone else’s behalf, according to the inspector general.

“Furthermore, unless it takes corrective action, we estimate SSA will pay about $182.5 million in benefits, annually, to representative payees who do not have an SSN or paper application supporting their selection,” the inspector general said.

The agency also paid $853.1 million in benefits since 2004 to individuals whom the agency terminated as representative payees.

OBAMA’S FISCAL LEGACY

Sunday, November 13th, 2016

This article was written the day before the election but contains very sobering and alarming information on the fiscal health of our country and what the next president  has to deal with.   As if there is not enough bad news in this article, the federal debt is approaching $20 trillion very quickly and increasing the debt ceiling will face Congress and the president by a March deadline.   Nancy

Obama’s Fiscal Legacy

The President’s luck is about to run out—on his successor’s watch.

Congratulations to the President-elect, whoever you are, because you’re going to need it. Our deadline arrived Tuesday before we knew the election outcome, but not before we can say with confidence that President Obama is leaving his successor a large and growing federal budget problem.

That’s the message in the Congressional Budget Office’s summary, released Monday, of the fiscal year that closed in September. Though the subject barely came up in the campaign—little policy substance did—the federal fisc is once again heading for trouble. There are some lessons in this for the next President, who will quickly realize that Mr. Obama’s fiscal luck has finally run out—on his successor’s watch.

VIDEO – SOCIALISM VS CONSTITUTIONAL PRINCIPLES – NANCY SCHULZE

Friday, October 21st, 2016

Nancy Schulze was the guest speaker at the Chapel Hill Republican Women’s luncheon on September 16.  She spoke on the Secular Left’s very successful attempts over the last 50 years  to weaken our nation by destabilizing our families, indoctrinating our youth, weakening our respect for law enforcement (Black Lives Matter), and questioning our Christian foundation.  She points out that our young people have a higher opinion of socialism than free enterprise which resulted in the young being attracted to Bernie Sanders, an avowed Democrat Socialist.
Today, almost 60% of our federal budget goes to entitlements and welfare which has weakened and destabilized our families.  Nancy points out that 80% of all prisoners come from fatherless families.  The unwed birthrate of  women 30 and younger is 64%.  She claims our country is  not at a crossroads, we are falling off a cliff !
As Nancy points out in the video, how often have we heard the left say, “This is not who we are as Americans”  when criticizing us as bigots and racists.  This is their attempt to redefine who we are as Americans and Nancy’s talk stresses that we need to talk about who we are and what has  been the successful foundation of our country dating back to our founders.
Please click on the youtube link below to view the video of Nancy Schulze’s talk on Socialism versus Constitutional Principles.
