DESIGNATE THE MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD A FOREIGN TERRORIST ORGANIZATION

Wednesday, April 12th, 2017

Designate the Muslim Brotherhood a Foreign Terrorist Organization
by QANTA A. AHMED     Qanta A. Ahmed, an associate professor of medicine at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. She is the author of In the Land of Invisible Women.
March 10, 2017
Founded in Egypt in 1928 and with branches or affiliates in over 70 nations, the Muslim Brotherhood today masquerades as a legitimate Islamic institution and a benign democratic actor. It is neither.
Aside from the group’s well-documented links to the financing of terrorism, it was the Brotherhood that birthed modern-day Islamism, a supremacist totalitarian ideology that seeks to undermine pluralist societies and impose hardline theocratic regimes.
The United States should designate the Muslim Brotherhood a foreign terrorist organization (FTO). In the doctrine of political Islam, or Islamism, the faith must be expressed through statehood, a concept conspicuously absent from both the Koran and most of Islam’s 1,400-year history.
Hostile to secularism, and steeped in anti-Semitism, Islamists exploit democratic institutions to further their sectarian aims. They have no intention to share power and every intention to subject nation-states to an invented sharia.

MUSLIM PROFESSOR INSISTS JESUS WASN’T CRUCIFIED, CHRISTIAN STUDENT SUSPENDED AFTER DISAGREEING

Muslim Prof Insists Jesus Wasn’t Crucified, Christian Student Suspended After Disagreeing

by Rob Shimshock, Education Reporter      March 24, 2017

A Christian college student has been suspended after allegedly challenging his Muslim professor’s claims that Jesus wasn’t crucified and that his disciples did not think he was God.

Marshall Polston, a sophomore at Rollins College in Florida, was suspended after disagreeing with these assertions made by his professor, Areej Zufari, in his Middle Eastern humanities class, as reported by The College Fix.

“Honestly, it reminded me of some of the more radical groups I researched when abroad,” Polston told the Central Florida Post. “Whether religious or not, I believe even those with limited knowledge of Christianity can agree that according to the text, Jesus was crucified and his followers did believe he was divine… that he was ‘God.’”

After Polston challenged Zufari on this point, he received a 52 percent on an essay and says the professor refused to explain why. He was later reportedly suspended.

A LETTER OF CONCERN TO DUKE UNIVERSITY CONCERNING THEIR LEFTIST POLICIES

Thursday, March 16th, 2017

Thanks to one of our conservative ladies, Wendy Ball, for sharing a letter she and her husband wrote to Duke University regarding their leftist  policies.  Nancy

James H. Ball, Sr.and Wendy A. Ball

February 24, 2017

Richard H. Brodhead

Office of the President

Duke University

207 Allen Building

Box 90001

Durham, NC 27708-0001

Dear President Brodhead:

We have had ties with Duke University beginning with our youngest son, Steven, who graduated from Duke in 1990. We paid for his education, without relying on financial assistance.  Since that beginning we have supported Duke including with financial gifts, e.g. for the Center for Athletic Excellence, etc. which gifts were recognized by membership in the James B. Duke Society.

During these years, certain factions on university campuses have attempted to “out liberal” each other and in many cases, create a climate of intolerance unless one mirrors the political beliefs of these factions.

Duke has not been immune to these factions and activities. The “gang of 88” professors who rushed to judge as guilty racists the three white Duke lacrosse players are examples of individuals who, to use a term of our former President Obama, were proven to be on the wrong side of history. More recently, the aborted decision by an administrator(s) to create a “welcoming environment” for Muslim students by authorizing their call-to-worship from the Duke chapel tower seems to demonstrate how willing some are to advance the activities of one favored religious group at the expense of another.

Earlier this month Duke’s Department of Gender, Sexuality and Feminist Studies sponsored an event “Ideas for Activism in the Time of Trump” described as “How our North Carolina Moral Monday Movement can be a model of a diverse coalition that brings together social justice people to take a stand against the Trump Administration.”  It seems that a university department is not educating but rather indoctrinating when it promotes activism against a duly elected President and his administration. We tried without success to locate prior events by this Department to promote activism against the Obama Administration.

In your December 8th message on immigration issues you noted that Duke recently announced that “undocumented” students will now be admitted on a need-blind basis and will be eligible for university financial aid if they are not permitted to work on campus. Our daughter-in-law immigrated legally to the United States from Sri Lanka and obtained her “green card” as a lawful permanent resident. We find it puzzling that Duke is prepared to admit and offer financial aid to a student who arrived illegally on the same basis as one who followed immigration laws; apparently, Duke believes there should be no reward to a student who is “documented”.

The following is a portion of the Conclusion of Duke and 16 other universities’ friend of the court brief (the “Amicus Brief”) filed in the United States District Court, Eastern District of New York in opposition to Executive Order 13769, entitled “Protecting the Nation from Foreign Terrorist Entry Into the United States” on which we have highlighted some interesting language:

“CONCLUSION Amici take extremely seriously the safety and security of their campuses and of the nation: if amici’s campuses were not safe, or the towns and cities in which they are located were not secure, amici could not maintain their world-renowned learning environments. Amici, however, believe that safety and security concerns can be addressed in a manner that is consistent with the values America has always stood for, including the free flow of ideas and people across borders and the welcoming of immigrants to our universities.…”

Notwithstanding as the Ninth Circuit acknowledged, even while upholding a TRO, that “the Government’s interest in combating terrorism is an urgent objective of the highest order”; this Conclusion as well as the reasoning stated in the body of the Amicus Brief for opposing[1] the Trump temporary ban on certain immigration from seven countries makes it clear that Duke and the other Amici universities believe that the determination of the safety and security of our nation is not unlike a debating society on one of their campuses and that they have the knowledge and expertise to participate in combating the terrorism concerns of our country- a frightening theory.

All the above lead us to believe that Duke and other universities of the same politics have plenty of money to support their agendas and do not need continued support from us.

Sincerely,

Cc: David M. Rubenstein, Chair

       Duke University Board of Trustees

[1] “The Executive Order at issue here threatens amici’s continuing ability to attract these Individuals [students, faculty, and scholars from all over the world] and thus to meet their goals of educating tomorrow’s leaders from around the world.”  Page 5 of the Amicus Brief

PHOTOS – POLITICAL CORRECTNESS – DIANA WEST – ICON LECTURES

Wednesday, October 26th, 2016

Diana West, author of “Death of the Grownup” and “American Betrayal” was the guest speaker at ICON’s event on Tuesday, October 18, 2016.  Political Correctness was the subject of her talk – What It Is, Where It Comes From and Why It Matters.  Diana referred to her research for  her book, “American Betrayal”  which documented  how Communists infiltrated  our government during the Roosevelt administration of the 1940’s.  Her further research has turned up evidence that the Marxists were actually actively working in this country as early as 1905.  During the 1930’s a group of Marxist professors from the Frankfurt School in Germany came to America and  established themselves first  at Columbia University and  then methodically started to spread their Cultural Marxism ideology within our university system.  By using  “Political Correctness”,  they were able to  silence those who opposed the stealth  attack on our traditional core  values which was designed to weaken our society from within.
Through a news article about Diana’s talk, a coalition of Far Left groups organized a protest of Diana West  and made charges of “hate speech” .  When the Far Left feels threatened by the facts, they call it “hate speech”.  The protest  ended quietly but photos of some of their protest signs are at the end of the photos from the lecture.  There is also a photo of our  friend, Lee Green, holding up her sign as a counter protest to support free speech.
A video of Diana’s talk  will be posted on our website – www.iconlectureseries.com in the next week so you will be able to listen to  Diana’s West’s  fascinating presentation.   You will not hear this subject matter being discussed anywhere else  in the media !
This was our last event of 2016 but 2017 is going to be an exciting year with our first speaker being Mike Adams, PHD, speaking on March 7, 2017, on “How U.S. Campuses Incubate and Enforce Cultural Marxism by using safe spaces  and speech codes.
ICON’S lectures for the rest of 2017 are April 25 – “Slow Death:  Assessing America’s War on Terrorism”.     May 23 – “Impact of Mass Migration into the U.S.”   Sept 12 – “The Real Story on Climate Change” and October 17  “The Growing National Threat from Iran”
Season tickets for 2017  are now available online at www.iconlectureseries.com along with a description of our five speakers that are already booked for 2017 !
Hope you enjoy the following photos that were taken at the event.   Nancy

VIDEO – SOCIALISM VS CONSTITUTIONAL PRINCIPLES – NANCY SCHULZE

Friday, October 21st, 2016

Nancy Schulze was the guest speaker at the Chapel Hill Republican Women’s luncheon on September 16.  She spoke on the Secular Left’s very successful attempts over the last 50 years  to weaken our nation by destabilizing our families, indoctrinating our youth, weakening our respect for law enforcement (Black Lives Matter), and questioning our Christian foundation.  She points out that our young people have a higher opinion of socialism than free enterprise which resulted in the young being attracted to Bernie Sanders, an avowed Democrat Socialist.
Today, almost 60% of our federal budget goes to entitlements and welfare which has weakened and destabilized our families.  Nancy points out that 80% of all prisoners come from fatherless families.  The unwed birthrate of  women 30 and younger is 64%.  She claims our country is  not at a crossroads, we are falling off a cliff !
As Nancy points out in the video, how often have we heard the left say, “This is not who we are as Americans”  when criticizing us as bigots and racists.  This is their attempt to redefine who we are as Americans and Nancy’s talk stresses that we need to talk about who we are and what has  been the successful foundation of our country dating back to our founders.
Please click on the youtube link below to view the video of Nancy Schulze’s talk on Socialism versus Constitutional Principles.

THE ISSUES AND WHERE THE REPUBLICAN AND DEMOCRAT PARTY PLATFORMS STAND

Tuesday, October 18th, 2016

Democratic and Republican Party Platforms: Where They Stand on the Issues

By    •   August 23, 2016

Sanctity of human life

Democratic

Democrats seek to repeal the 1976 Hyde Amendment so that federal funds can be used to pay for abortions. The platform says, “We will continue to stand up to Republican efforts to defund Planned Parenthood health centers.” Democrats support ratification of UN efforts that affirm “the reproductive rights of women” globally.

Republican
The GOP asserts the sanctity of human life and affirms, “The unborn child has a fundamental right to life which cannot be infringed.” The party supports a Human Life Amendment making clear that the 14th Amendment’s protections apply to children before birth, and it salutes states that require informed consent, parental consent, waiting periods and clinic regulation.

Marriage

Democratic

Democrats applaud last year’s Supreme Court ruling that “LGBT people—like other Americans—have the right to marry the person they love.”

Republican
The GOP platform condemns the Supreme Court’s rulings that removed the ability of Congress and the people to define marriage as the union of one man and one woman. The GOP urges the reversal of those decisions, whether through judicial reconsideration or a constitutional amendment.

Religious freedom

Democratic

The Democratic platform says: “We support a progressive vision of religious freedom that respects pluralism and rejects the misuse of religion to discriminate.” The party opposes a religious test to bar immigrants or refugees from entering the country.

Republican
Republicans affirm that religious freedom in the Bill of Rights protects the right of the people to practice their faith in their everyday lives. The platform endorses the First Amendment Defense Act, which would protect faith-based institutions and individuals from government discrimination.

AMERICAN BAR ASSOCIATION THREATENS FREE SPEECH AND RELIGIOUS FREEDOM

Friday, September 2nd, 2016

It is shocking that the American Bar Association would propose this threat to religious liberty and free speech.   Nancy

How the lawyers plan to stifle speech and faith

The American Bar Association’s new code must be rejected

– – Wednesday, August 17, 2016   Edwin Meese III was the 75th attorney general of the United States.  Kelly J. Shackelford is president and CEO of First Liberty Institute.

EXCERPT FROM THIS ARTICLE:  The ABA’s un-American censorship regime is beyond draconian; it coerces conformity regarding religious and political beliefs on a level unprecedented in American history. It borders on fascism, and must be explicitly repudiated.

Last week the American Bar Association (ABA) changed its model ethics rules for lawyers, prohibiting attorneys from engaging in speech or being a member of any organization — even churches — that holds traditional views on marriage, sexuality and other issues. It now goes to each state’s courts for consideration, which must emphatically reject Model Rule 8.4 as an unprecedented threat to religious liberty, both for attorneys and their clients.

The ABA adopted Model Rule 8.4, which makes it unethical — and thus something for which a lawyer could lose his or her license to practice law — to “discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation, gender identity or socioeconomic status in conduct related to the practice of law.”

ISLAMISM RISES FROM EUROPE’S SECULARISM

Monday, August 1st, 2016

This sounds like something out of George Orwell’s 1984 !!!     Nancy
GATESTONE INSTITUTE
  • In France, the Socialist government imposed a “secularism charter” in every school, banning Christianity from the educational system. Municipalities have already changed the enrollment form for schoolchildren by eliminating the words “father” and “mother”, replacing them with “legal manager 1” and “legal manager 2”. It is George Orwell’s “Newspeak”.
  • After two major terror attacks in 2015, France, instead of promoting a cultural “jihad” based on Western values, responded to Islamic fundamentalism with a ridiculous “Day of Secularism” to be celebrated every 9th of December.
  • This narrow secularism has also prevented France from openly supporting Eastern Christians under Islamist oppression.
  • The empty 13th century Oude Kerk church in Amsterdam is now used for exhibitions and can be rented for gala dinners. In front of it there is “Sexyland”, offering “Live F*ck Shows”, a coffee shop for drugs and an “Erotic Supermarket” for dildos. For seven euros one can also visit the church.
