Today is May Day, also celebrated by many soci

alists and communists as International Workers Day. Our question is: When people think of humanity’s greatest evils, why is communism rarely mentioned? After all, in terms of duration in time, geographic scope, number of people enslaved and murdered, and lives destroyed, communists have caused more suffering than even the Nazis. As Dennis Prager explains in this week’s new video, communism should be regarded every bit as evil as Nazism.

With today being May Day, it’s important to post the truth on social media about socialism and communism. After watching Dennis’s new video, watch Felipe Moura Brasil’s video on how socialism ruined Brazil, and then please share it on Facebook.

VIDEO – PRAGER U –   WHY I LEFT THE LEFT

According to Dave Rubin, host of The Rubin Report, the “progressive” left needs a new name that more accurately describes the movement. In this week’s video, Dave, who considers himself a true liberal, says that we should call the “progressive left” the “regressive left.” Why? Because progressives today oppose free speech, freedom of religion, and diversity of thought. In other words, progressives have turned liberalism on its head. So if liberals don’t have a home on the left, should they consider themselves conservatives?

VIDEO  – BORN TO HATE JEWS  – PRAGER U

UPDATE (Monday, Dec. 5, 1:40pm EST): YouTube has entirely removed PragerU’s new video with Kasim Hafeez, a British Muslim who is a pro-Israel activist. In the video, Hafeez explains how he overcame the anti-Semitic indoctrination that radicalized him from an early age. Within hours of the video’s release Monday morning, YouTube flagged it for “hate speech” and took it down. PragerU is disputing YouTube’s removal of the video.

Please sign this petition to demand that YouTube remove its “hate speech” label on a video that is about fighting anti-Semitism!

DO ILLEGAL VOTES DECIDE ELECTIONS?

Wednesday, December 7th, 2016

Do Illegal Votes Decide Elections?

There’s no way to know. But the evidence suggests that significant numbers of noncitizens cast ballots.

Mr. von Spakovsky, a former member of the Federal Election Commission, is a senior legal fellow at the Heritage Foundation. Mr. Fund is the national affairs columnist for National Review. They are the authors of “Who’s Counting? How Fraudsters and Bureaucrats Put Your Vote at Risk” (Encounter, 2012).

Donald Trump’s claim that illegal voting may have cost him a popular-vote majority has touched off outrage. Widespread voter fraud, the media consensus suggests, isn’t possible. But there is a real chance that significant numbers of noncitizens and others are indeed voting illegally, perhaps enough to make up the margin in some elections.

There’s no way of knowing for sure. The voter-registration process in almost all states runs on the honor system. The Obama administration has done everything it can to keep the status quo in place. The Obama Justice Department has refused to file a single lawsuit to enforce the requirement of the National Voter Registration Act that states maintain the accuracy of their voter-registration lists. This despite a 2012 study from the Pew Center on the States estimating that one out of every eight voter registrations is inaccurate, out-of-date or duplicate. About 2.8 million people are registered in more than one state, according to the study, and 1.8 million registered voters are dead. In most places it’s easy to vote under the names of such people with little risk of detection.

WHAT OBAMA SAID AT THE MOSQUE

Wednesday, February 10th, 2016

You Don’t Know What Obama Said at the Mosque

Dennis Prager

If you seek to understand Barack Obama and his views, the best place to go is his speeches. But you have to read them in their entirety, not rely on hearing them or on the media’s summary of them. When you do, you realize how often what Obama says is morally and intellectually confused and even untrue.

The most recent example was his speech last week at a mosque in Baltimore. In addition to reassuring Muslim Americans that they are as American as Americans of every other faith — – a point that any president, Republican or Democrat, would and should make – President Obama spoke a lot of nonsense, some of it dangerous.
President Obama: “So let’s start with this fact: For more than a thousand years, people have been drawn to Islam’s message of peace. And the very word itself, Islam, comes from salam — peace.”
Why did Obama say this? Even Muslim websites acknowledge that “Islam” means “submission” [to Allah], that it comes from the Arabic root “aslama” meaning submission, and that “Islam” is in the command form of that verb.
That’s why “Muslim” means “One who submits,” not “One who is peaceful.”
Obama: “Jefferson and John Adams had their own copies of the Quran.”
The reason Jefferson had a copy of the Quran was to try to understand it in light of what the Muslim ambassador from Tripoli had told him and John Adams. When asked why Tripoli pirates were attacking American ships and enslaving Americans, the Muslim ambassador explained that Muslims are commanded to do so by the Quran: “It was written in their Quran that all nations which had not acknowledged the Prophet were sinners, whom it was the right and duty of the faithful to plunder and enslave; and that every mussulman [Muslim] who was slain in this warfare was sure to go to Paradise.”
That’s why Jefferson and Adams had Qurans.

The Pope and the Hammer and Sickle

Dennis Prager

7/14/2015 12:01:00 AM – Dennis Prager

Last week the Marxist quasi-dictator of Bolivia, Evo Morales, presented Pope Francis with a gift: a carved wooden hammer and sickle cross on which the figure of Christ is crucified.

The Vatican announced that the pope had not been informed in advance about the gift. And some commentators said photos of the pope and Morales show that the pope was actually offended. That was a false — probably wishful — interpretation. The pope himself later announced that he was keeping the hammer and sickle crucifix and taking it home, saying, “I understand this work. For me it wasn’t an offense.”

And as reported by The Guardian, “Vatican spokesman Federico Lombardi said he personally wasn’t offended by Morales’ gift.”

The pope’s acceptance of Morales’ gift — along with his attacks on capitalism during his Latin American tour — further confirms one of the most troubling moral developments of our time: The Roman Catholic Church is currently led by a man whose social, political and economic views have been shaped by Leftism more than by any other religious or moral system.

It also reconfirms what is probably the single most important development one needs to understand in order to make sense of the contemporary world: The most dynamic religion of the past hundred years has been Leftism — not Christianity or Islam or any other traditional religion. Indeed, regarding traditional religions, Leftism has influenced them — particularly Christianity and Judaism — far more than they have influenced the Left. Mainstream Protestant Christianity, much of Catholicism (especially in Latin America, where Pope Francis lived his whole life before becoming pope), and most of non-Orthodox Judaism have become essentially liberal/Left movements with religious (and in the case of Judaism, ethnic) identities. WHY THE LEFT DOESN’T CARE ABOUT BAD ECONOMIC NEWS

Why the Left Doesn’t Care about Bad Economic News

By Dennis Prager

JWR contributor Dennis Prager hosts a national daily radio show based in Los Angeles

JewishWorldReview.com  | This perception is wrong. It is their goals that are irreconcilable. And until conservatives, independents and the Republican Party understand this, it will not be possible to defeat the left.

Take economic indicators. Most conservatives talk and act as if bad economic news disturbs the left as much as it disturbs them. It doesn’t.

Almost everywhere the left is in control — in California, for example — the economic news is awful. But this has no effect on the ruling Democrats, the Los Angeles Times editorial page, New York Times economics columnist Paul Krugman or others on the left.

There is one overriding philosophical reason and one political reason for this. But before I identify them, permit me to note some of the economic facts of life in California.

Unless otherwise noted, the following data have been culled by Chapman University Professor Joel Kotkin, and published in the Wall Street Journal, the Orange County Register and elsewhere. (For the record, Kotkin is a self-described “Truman Democrat” who voted for the Democrat governor Jerry Brown of California.)

—In the last 20 years, about 4 million more people have left California than came in from other states. Most of those leaving are young families.

—In the last 15 years, one-third of California’s industrial employment base has disappeared. That’s 600,000 jobs that have disappeared.

—California has the 48th-worst business tax climate. (The Tax Foundation)

—California’s electricity prices are 50 percent higher than the national average. (more…)

THE LEFT LEARNED WRONG LESSONS FROM NAZISM

The Left Learned Wrong

Lessons from Nazism

Dennis Prager | Dec 10, 2013

http://townhall.com/columnists/dennisprager/

The only way to understand what is happening to America in our time — and for that matter, in Europe since World War II — is to understand the left.

And one way to understand the left — and its enormous appeal to many decent people — is to understand what it learned from World War II and the Nazi experience. The lessons people draw from history go a long way toward explaining how they view the world and how they behave.

Unfortunately, virtually everything the left learned from the unique evil known as Nazism has been wrong.

The first lesson was that the right is evil, not merely wrong. Because Nazism has been successfully labelled “right-wing,” virtually every right-wing position and leader has been either cynically or sincerely characterized by the left as a danger to civilization. That is why the right is so often labelled fascist and compared to Nazis. Vast numbers of people in the West truly believe that if the right prevails, fascism will follow.

Of course, Nazism was not right-wing — certainly not in American terms. How could it be? Right-wing means less government, not more. Nor was it left-wing, even though “Nazism” was an abbreviation for National Socialism.

Nazism was sui generis. It was radical racism combined with totalitarianism; and racism as a doctrine is neither right nor left.

We have no contemporary movement of any major significance that is Nazi-like. The closest thing we have is Islamist hatred of non-Muslims — but even that is mostly religion- rather than race-based.

The association of Nazism with right-wing is one reason many Jews loathe the right. In the Jewish psyche, to fight the right is to fight incipient Nazism. (more…)

THE LEFT AND CHILDREN’S INNOCENCE

The Left, Bert and Ernie and Children’s

Innocence

Dennis Prager

7/2/2013 12:01:00 AM – Dennis Prager

If a Martian were to observe the human condition, he would have to conclude that the left has an agenda to deprive children of their innocence.

The Martian would have no other explanation for the premature sexualizing of children that the left has engaged in for decades, and which seems to increases almost weekly.

The most recent example is the cover of the current issue of the New Yorker, which depicts the Sesame Street characters Bert and Ernie. They are seated on a couch snuggling with Bert’s head on Ernie’s shoulder watching television. The TV features a picture of the U.S. Supreme Court.

To their credit, the creators of Sesame Street and of Bert and Ernie have stated that the two characters are not only never depicted as having anything but Platonic interest in one another, they are also never depicted as having any interest in females either. As indeed it should have been, they were characters for children to enjoy.

But for the left, Bert and Ernie (and whatever else the left can get its ideological hands on) are manipulated into vehicles for a left-wing cause. And no cause animates the left these days more than the social advancement of gays, lesbians, bisexuals and the transgendered.

One consequence has been the robbing of children’s innocence by prematurely sexualizing them. Rendering Bert and Ernie as gay is only the most recent example.

Other examples abound.

Just one week earlier, the State of Colorado’s Rights Division ruled that a first-grade boy who identifies and dresses as a girl may use the girls’ restroom at school. The school had previously allowed the first-grader to use a bathroom in either the teachers’ lounge or in the nurse’s office, but not the girls’ bathroom.

Now, first-grade girls must share their bathroom with a fellow first-grader who has a penis. There is every reason to have pity on this child. But that is not a valid reason to subject all the girls to issues such as gender confusion at such a young age. (more…)
