TRUMP CHOOSES TO FIGHT AT HOME

Monday, October 21st, 2019

THE WALL STREET JOURNAL

Trump Chooses to Fight at Home

The Kurds are not the first foreign ally to be sacrificed to America’s domestic battles.

by Holman W. Jenkins, Jr.    October 19, 2019

The United States abandoned half of Europe to the Soviets, which included abandoning the Free Poles who fought by our side in World War II. We let South Vietnam go down the drain in a fit of Watergate pique. George H.W. Bush called on the Iraqi people to remove Saddam Hussein and then allowed them to be massacred without U.S. assistance. The U.S. set matters right with the 2007 surge in Iraq whereupon President Obama withdrew the troops and let the place fall apart again. Mr. Obama also assured Syrian oppositionists that the U.S. would respond militarily if Bashar Assad used chemical weapons and then didn’t.

It would be nice if the U.S. could provide steady, wise and endlessly resourceful leadership. It would be nice if each of us, in our own lives, could be everywhere and do everything. That’s not life.

Lots of people think they know everything they need to know about Donald Trump’s withdrawal of U.S. forces from a corner of Syria by who made the decision. It was impulsive, shameful, self-serving and wrong, because it was made by Mr. Trump. But even a man who pays little attention to his briefings would have heard by now that the U.S. position presented an untenable dilemma.

Turkey is an Article 5 NATO ally.We have obliged Ankara for two decades by designating its Kurdish separatists as terrorists. The U.S. has never advocated breaking up Syria (or Iraq, Iran or Turkey) to allow a Kurdish state. U.S. support for an autonomous Kurdish enclave in Iraq was dependent on the Kurds’ recognizing Baghdad’s sovereignty and not using Iraqi Kurdistan as a base to subvert neighboring states.

We talk loosely about U.S. troops being a tripwire, but we don’t actually leave soldiers vulnerable to being run over by a hostile force. If Turkey threatens to invade northern Syria, the U.S either has to remove its troops or back them up with enough force to protect them from the Turks.

THE FOREVER WARS OF THE MIDDLE EAST

Sunday, October 13th, 2019

Controversy is swirling throughout Washington on President Trump’s decision to withdraw a small number of U.S. Troops from the Turkish/Syrian border.  The commentary below will give you some idea just how complicated the controversy  of the entire Middle East is.  Many Americans are tired of hearing about the constant fighting that has been going on in the Middle East for eons.    You be the judge on what you think our American policy should be.

MY CORNER by Boyd Cathey

President Trump Is Right On Syria!

The unified foreign policy establishment in Washington, the Deep State politicos—from Lindsey Graham and Lynne Cheney in Congress, to the frenzied Never Trumpers like Peggy Noonan in The Wall Street Journal, [“he’s (Trump) all impulse, blithely operating out of his depth”], to the near totality of the progressivist Left (e.g. Chuck Schumer, Diane Feinstein, and others), have come together (as they always will) to protect their sacred commitment to globalism and, this time, in fanatical opposition to President Trump’s decision to finally withdraw American support troops from northeastern Syria.

TURKEY FLOODING EUROPE WITH MIGRANTS

Turkey Flooding Europe with Migrants

  • The Greek government has said that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan personally controls the migration flows to Greece and turns them on and off to extract more money and other political concessions from the European Union. In recent months, the Turkish government has repeatedly threatened to open the floodgates of mass migration to Greece, and, by extension, to the rest of Europe.
  • “If they [the European Union] do not give us the necessary support in this struggle, then we will not be able to stop the 3.5 million refugees from Syria and another two million people who will reach our borders from Idlib.” — Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
  • “If we open the floodgates, no European government will be able to survive for more than six months. We advise them not to try our patience.” — Turkish Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu.
  • More than six million migrants are believed to be waiting in countries around the Mediterranean to cross into Europe, according to a classified German government report leaked to the newspaper Bild…More than three million others are waiting in Turkey.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and other members of his government have repeatedly threatened to flood Europe with migrants. On September 5, Erdoğan said that Turkey plans to repatriate one million Syrian migrants to a “safe zone” in northern Syria and threatened to reopen the route for migrants into Europe if he does not receive adequate international support for the plan: “This either happens or otherwise we will have to open the gates.” Pictured: Erdoğan speaks at the UN on September 24, 2019. VIDEO – AHMAD AND HIS THREE WIVES IN GERMANY

Friday, March 2nd, 2018

VIDEO   – AHMAD AND HIS THREE WIVES  – A TV  INTERVIEW WITH A MUSLIM FAMILY IN GERMANY

GATES OF VIENNA
VIDEO

Last week we posted about Ahmad, a Syrian “refugee” who was permitted to bring two wives and numerous children with him to Germany. The whole polygamous family is being housed and maintained under congenial conditions, at the expense of the state.

Below is a longer video about the fecund Ahmad and his culture-enriching brood. Anton, who translated the video for subtitles, includes this introduction:

“ As far as emancipation is concerned, the refugee wave has not brought only progress to Germany.[1].

“Instead, our reporter Andrew Musa found the Syrian family living in a form of mini-harem…. apparently without legal difficulties, although so-called polygamy is prohibited in this country.”[2]

1. resent also that SPIEGEL TV suggests there is any progress whatsoever. There isn’t.
2. Any polygamy is not “so-called” as the TV presenter suggests. It is polygamy. And polygamy is illegal.
3. They headed straight for Germany past many safe countries. They entered illegally.
4. Families of this size get around 13K USD tax free every month. Free maternal care. Free child care. Free medical care. Free housing. Free schooling. Free TV. Free telephone. Free everything.

Costing the tax payer around 150K-180K USD NETT!!!

They can even travel home on welfare to Syria to visit relatives. No problem.

ALL ILLEGALLY.

Note: The average GROSS German wage is around 41K USD per annum.

Many thanks to Vlad Tepes for the subtitling:

THE LEFT TRIED TO REWRITE HISTORY IN THE HOLOCAUST MUSEUM RE OBAMA’S ROLE IN SYRIA

EXCERPT FROM THIS ARTICLE:  And the report was anything but disinterested. The museum’s memorial council includes at least five former Obama National Security Council staffers, among them Ben Rhodes, arguably more responsible for the administration’s Syria policy than anyone except the man he worked for.

The truth is Obama did not merely do nothing while Assad put the people of his country through a meat grinder and gassed children. He stepped aside out of respect for what he called Iran’s “equities” in Syria. Assad was Tehran’s man, and Obama didn’t want to interfere lest his coveted deal with Iran’s leaders come undone. Worse, as part of that deal, he approved filling the Iranian regime’s war chest with billions of dollars in sanctions relief and repatriated funds that had been frozen in the United States ever since Ruhollah Khomeini’s revolution. It’s no exaggeration to say that the misbegotten Iran deal helped fund Assad’s murderous campaign.

Whitewashing Obama’s role and their own in a genocide, his aides sought to etch their perverse draft of history in stone—in the stone halls of a museum whose stated mission is to inspire “citizens and leaders to confront hatred, prevent genocide, and promote human dignity.”

Last week the Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C., removed from its website a study absolving the Obama administration of any blame for its inaction in the face of the Syrian genocide. The study had been scheduled for release amid much hoopla at a September 11 event hosted by the U.S. Institute of Peace.

WHO PAYS TO RESETTLE REFUGEES ?

State Dept. Redacts Big Chunks of $22.8 Mil Contract to Resettle Muslim Refugees

MAY 24, 2017

The U.S. government spends billions of dollars to “resettle” foreign nationals and transparency on how the money is spent depends on the agency involved. Judicial Watch has been investigating it for years, specifically the huge amount of taxpayer dollars that go to “voluntary agencies”, known as VOLAGs, to provide a wide range of services for the new arrivals. Throughout the ongoing probe Judicial Watch has found a striking difference on how government lawyers use an exemption, officially known as (b)(4), to the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) to withhold records. All the cases involve public funds being used to resettle foreigners on U.S. soil and Americans should be entitled to the records.

The (b)(4) exemption permits agencies to withhold trade secrets and commercial or financial information obtained from a person which is privileged or confidential. Depending on the government agency and the mood of the taxpayer-funded lawyers handling public records requests, that information is exempt from disclosure. In these cases, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) disclosed a VOLAG contract to resettle tens of thousands of Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC) that entered the U.S. through Mexico under the Obama administration while the State Department withheld large portions of a one-year, $22.8 million deal to resettle refugees from Muslim countries. Most of the UACs came from El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala and the Obama administration blamed the sudden surge on violence in the three central American nations. The agency responsible for resettling the minors and issuing contracts for the costly services is HHS.
