GATES OF VIENNA

The Logicians of Sacred Atrocity

April 22, 2017   by Baron Bodissey
EXCERPT FROM THIS ARTICLE:  It’s time to move past the idea that Islam is insane, stupid or illogical.  It is none of those things.
If we want to defeat Islam – and remember, we are currently losing and losing badly – we must understand it.  We must learn to think like Muslims.  We need to practice seeing the world as Muslims see it, using their premises and their logic and their rules.
That is  the only way we can ever hope to avoid being overrun by the Islamic Caliphate.

It is frequently asserted that Islam is insane and irrational, and that the actions of devout Muslims are therefore capricious and without logic. This is hardly the case. Muslims are generally quite rational — they just have very different logical premises than we do.

Muslims do not commit bizarre, inhuman acts for no reason. They do so for quite precise reasons, which may be determined from reading their source texts (plus tafsirs, or authenticated exegeses) closely. If you begin with bizarre, inhuman premises, and follow the rules carefully based on them, then PRESTO! — you’re a Muslim. A good Muslim. You’re a devout servant of Allah, a god who demands that you follow his intricate instructions down to the minutest detail.

Every time someone refers to a jihad massacre as a “senseless tragedy”, he reveals that he has not done due diligence with respect to Islamic law. Those acts are not senseless, not in the slightest. And they are not “tragedies”, they are atrocities. Intentional, deliberate, methodical atrocities carried in rigorous compliance with Islamic law.

Islam is, by and large, a huge compendium of rules derived from the Koran and the sayings of Mohammed. Taken together these comprise the shariah, or Islamic Law. They form the basis of the fiqh, Islamic jurisprudence, which judges the actions of all people according to whether or not they are in accord with the shariah. And the rules are not for Muslims alone; the kuffar(unbelievers) are also subject to the fiqh, provided that Muslims are locally present in sufficient numbers to bring coercive force to bear.

FRANCE: A GUIDE TO THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION

Saturday, April 22nd, 2017

This helps to understand the positions of all the candidates in the French presidential race.  This French  election has important implications for the future of France, the EU and the Muslim migrant issue.    Nancy

France: A Guide to the Presidential Elections

by Soeren Kern
  • “What poses a problem is not Islam, but certain behaviors that are said to be religious and then imposed on persons who practice that religion.” — Emmanuel Macron
  • “Those who come to France are to accept France, not to transform it to the image of their country of origin. If they want to live at home, they should have stayed at home.” — Marine Le Pen
  • “It [France] is one nation that has a right to choose who can join it and a right that foreigners accept its rules and customs. — François Fillon
  • Jean-Luc Mélenchon has called for a massive increase in public spending, a 90% tax on anyone earning more than €400,000 ($425,000) a year, and an across-the-board increase in the minimum wage by 16% to €1,326 ($1,400) net a month, based on a 35-hour work week.
  • Benoît Hamon has promised to establish a universal basic income: he wants to pay every French citizen over 18, regardless of whether or not they are employed, a government-guaranteed monthly income of €750 ($800). The annual cost to taxpayers would be €400 billion ($430 billion). By comparison, France’s 2017 defense budget is €32.7 billion ($40 billion).

Voters in France will go to the polls on April 23 to choose the country’s next president in a two-step process. The top two winners in the first round will compete in a run-off on May 7.

The election is being closely followed in France and elsewhere as an indicator of popular discontent with mainstream parties and the European Union, as well as with multiculturalism and continued mass migration from the Muslim world.

DESIGNATE THE MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD A FOREIGN TERRORIST ORGANIZATION

Wednesday, April 12th, 2017

Designate the Muslim Brotherhood a Foreign Terrorist Organization
by QANTA A. AHMED     Qanta A. Ahmed, an associate professor of medicine at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. She is the author of In the Land of Invisible Women.
March 10, 2017
Founded in Egypt in 1928 and with branches or affiliates in over 70 nations, the Muslim Brotherhood today masquerades as a legitimate Islamic institution and a benign democratic actor. It is neither.
Aside from the group’s well-documented links to the financing of terrorism, it was the Brotherhood that birthed modern-day Islamism, a supremacist totalitarian ideology that seeks to undermine pluralist societies and impose hardline theocratic regimes.
The United States should designate the Muslim Brotherhood a foreign terrorist organization (FTO). In the doctrine of political Islam, or Islamism, the faith must be expressed through statehood, a concept conspicuously absent from both the Koran and most of Islam’s 1,400-year history.
Hostile to secularism, and steeped in anti-Semitism, Islamists exploit democratic institutions to further their sectarian aims. They have no intention to share power and every intention to subject nation-states to an invented sharia.

AYAAN HIRSI ALI – ISLAM’S MOST ELOQUENT APOSTATE

Tuesday, April 11th, 2017

Ayaan Hirsi Ali explains the danger the West faces by not recognizing the threat of Dawa.  An exceptionally informative article.    Nancy

Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Islam’s Most Eloquent Apostate

The West’s obsession with ‘terror’ has been a mistake, she argues. Dawa, the ideology behind it, is a broader threat.

by Tunku Varadaraian

Mr. Varadarajan is a research fellow in journalism at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution.

  April 8, 2017  Stanford, Calif.

EXCERPT FROM THIS ARTICLE:  Ms. Hirsi Ali—now a research fellow at Stanford’s Hoover Institution, where I also work—is urging the West to look at Islam with new eyes. She says it must be viewed “not just as a religion, but also as a political ideology.” To regard Islam merely as a faith, “as we would Christianity or Buddhism, is to run the risk of ignoring dawa, the activities carried out by Islamists to keep Muslims energized by a campaign to impose Shariah law on all societies—including countries of the West.”

Dawa, Ms. Hirsi Ali explains, is “conducted right under our noses in Europe, and in America. It aims to convert non-Muslims to political Islam and also to push existing Muslims in a more extreme direction.” The ultimate goal is “to destroy the political institutions of a free society and replace them with Shariah.” It is a “never-ending process,” she says, and then checks herself: “It ends when an Islamic utopia is achieved. Shariah everywhere!”

The woman sitting opposite me, dressed in a charcoal pantsuit and a duck-egg-blue turtleneck, can’t go anywhere, at any time of day, without a bodyguard. She is soft-spoken and irrepressibly sane, but also—in the eyes of those who would rather cut her throat than listen to what she says—the most dangerous foe of Islamist extremism in the Western world. We are in a secure room at a sprawling university, but the queasiness in my chest takes a while to go away. I’m talking to a woman with multiple fatwas on her head, someone who has a greater chance of meeting a violent end than anyone I’ve met (Salman Rushdie included). And yet she’s wholly poised, spectacles pushed back to rest atop her head like a crown, dignified and smiling under siege.

ILLUSTRATION: ZINA SAUNDERS

Ayaan Hirsi Ali, born in Somalia in 1969, is Islam’s most eloquent apostate. She has just published a slim book that seeks to add a new four-letter word—dawa—to the West’s vocabulary. It describes the ceaseless, world-wide ideological campaign waged by Islamists as a complement to jihad. It is, she says, the greatest threat facing the West and “could well bring about the end of the European Union as we know it.” America is far from immune, and her book, “The Challenge of Dawa,” is an explicit attempt to persuade the Trump administration to adopt “a comprehensive anti-dawa strategy before it is too late.”

DIRTY BOMBS, DARK SECRETS: INSIDE THE URANIUM UNDERWORLD

Inside the Uranium Underworld: Dark Secrets, Dirty Bombs

Tamila Chaduneli holds a picture of her son Amiran, who was caught attempting to sell highly radioactive uranium in Georgia  Yuri Kozyrev—Noor for TIME
EXCERPT FROM THE ARTICLE:  There have already been plenty of signs that ISIS would like to go nuclear. After the series of ISIS-linked bombings in Brussels killed at least 32 people in March 2016, Belgian authorities revealed that a suspected member of a terrorist cell had surveillance footage of a Belgian nuclear official with access to radioactive materials. The country’s nuclear-safety agency then said there were “concrete indications” that the cell intended “to do something involving one of our four nuclear sites.” About a year earlier, in May 2015, ISIS suggested in an issue of its propaganda magazine that it was wealthy enough to purchase a nuclear device on the black market—and to “pull off something truly epic.”

One night last spring, Amiran Chaduneli, a flea-market trader in the ex-Soviet Republic of Georgia, met with two strangers on a bridge at the edge of Kobuleti, a small town on the country’s Black Sea coast.

Over the phone, the men had introduced themselves as foreigners—one Turkish, the other Russian—and they were looking for an item so rare on the black market that it tends to be worth more, ounce for ounce, than gold. Chaduneli knew where to get it. He didn’t know that his clients were undercover cops.

From the bridge, he took them to inspect the merchandise at a nearby apartment where his acquaintance had been storing it: a lead box about the size of a smartphone, containing a few pounds of radioactive uranium, including small amounts of the weapons-grade material known as uranium-235. The stash wasn’t nearly enough to make a nuclear weapon. But if packed together with high explosives, these metallic lumps could produce what’s known as a dirty bomb—one that could poison the area around the blast zone with toxic levels of radiation.

PRO-ISIS HACKERS RELEASE ‘KILL LIST’ WITH 8,786 TARGETS IN US, UK

Wednesday, April 5th, 2017

Pro-ISIS hackers release ‘kill list’ with 8,786 targets in US, UK

An ISIS-linked group of hackers has released a “kill list” of 8,786 names and addresses in the U.S. and U.K., calling for lone wolf attacks on the targets in a chilling video posted online.

The hackers, known as the United Cyber Caliphate (UCC), orders those watching to: “Kill them wherever you find them.”

In a posting Sunday night on Telegram — a private messaging app — the group first warned that a release of the names was imminent.

About 10 minutes later, the hackers posted the actual list, which includes names of seemingly random inviduals from primarily the U.S. and U.K., according to the terror monitor SITE.

“More than 7,000 of the names were from the U.S.,” a source from the cyber department at SITE told Fox News on Wednesday.

CAIR ORDERS U.S. AIR FORCE TO DITCH ‘ANTI-MUSLIM’ COUNTERTERRORISM INSTRUCTOR

Wednesday, April 5th, 2017

CAIR Orders U.S. Air Force

to Ditch “Anti-Muslim”

Counterterrorism Instructor

MARCH 30, 2017

The Islamic terrorist front group that transformed the way U.S. law enforcement agencies conduct anti-terrorism training is ordering the Air Force to sever ties with an instructor it considers to be anti-Muslim. The question is will the Trump administration cave into its demands? Under Barack Obama, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), a group that reportedly raises money for Hamas, wielded tremendous power and managed to bully law enforcement agencies at the local, state and federal level to alter counterterrorism training materials deemed by the group to discriminate against Muslims.

This includes getting the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to purge anti-terrorism training curricula of material determined to be “offensive” to Muslims. Judicial Watch uncovered that scandal and obtained the FBI records. Based on troves of government documents, Judicial Watch subsequently published a special, in-depth report on the scandal. CAIR is not specifically named but the records show that an undisclosed group of “Subject Matter Experts” (SME) determined the federal training material was offensive to Muslims. CAIR also got police departments in Illinois toeliminate anti-terrorism training materials and instructors deemed anti-Muslim. As an example, CAIR asserted that an instructor for the Lombard, Illinois police force wrote an article years earlier that included disparaging comments about the Prophet Muhammad. The course was called “Islamic Awareness as a Counter-Terrorist Strategy” and departments in Lombard, Elmhurst and Highland Park caved into CAIR’s demands.

TRUMP ADMIN CONSIDERS STEPS FOR ‘EXTREME VETTING’

Wednesday, April 5th, 2017

desperate times call for desperate measures    Nancy
THE WALL STREET JOURNAL

Trump Administration Considers Far-Reaching Steps for ‘Extreme Vetting’

Foreigners entering U.S. could be forced to hand over phones, answer questions on ideology; changes could apply to allies like France and Germany

Foreigners who want to visit the U.S., even for a short trip, could be forced to disclose contacts on their mobile phones, social-media passwords and financial records, and to answer probing questions about their ideology, according to Trump administration officials conducting a review of vetting procedures.

The administration also wants to subject more visa applicants to intense security reviews and have embassies spend more time interviewing each applicant. The changes could apply to people from all over the world, including allies like France and Germany.

The measures—whose full scope haven’t yet been publicly discussed—would together represent the “extreme vetting” President Donald Trump has promised. The changes would be sure to generate significant controversy, both at home, from civil libertarians and others who see the questions as overly intrusive, and abroad, with experts warning that other nations could impose similar requirements on Americans seeking visas.

“If there is any doubt about a person’s intentions coming to the United States, they should have to overcome—really and truly prove to our satisfaction—that they are coming for legitimate reasons,” said Gene Hamilton, senior counselor to Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly.

TRUMP, ISIS AND EINSTEIN – A NEW APPROACH TO WINNING THE WAR AGAINST ISIS

Tuesday, April 4th, 2017

www.washingtontimes.com/news/2017/mar/8/trumps-isis-strategy-requires-the-military-general/

Trump, ISIS and Einstein

The president is about to get the same results

– – Wednesday, March 8, 2017

Bruce M. Lawlor, a retired U.S. Army major general, is a former member of the Homeland Security Advisory Council and chief of staff of the Department of Homeland Security. Kevin McCarty is a former naval officer and strategist who served under two presidents as a member of the National Security Council staff.

EXCERPT FROM THIS ARTICLE:  THE NEW WAY

There needs to be an information component in the new ISIS strategy, one that meets head-on the issue of Islam being used to justify terrorist violence. The vast majority of Muslims are already with us in condemning hatred in the name of Islam, but there are still many who aren’t because a small percentage of 1.6 billion Muslims is still a lot of people. We need a political campaign to influence their ideas, to convince them that suicide vests and beheadings on the beach are not part of an answer to their problems.

The Pentagon can’t run such a campaign because it doesn’t know how, as it has proved time and time again. Ironically, it was George C. Marshall, one of our greatest generals, who understood that sometimes firepower is not the best option, and that solutions can be found outside of government, if one is willing to accept a different conceptual approach. That is what is needed here. The people who know most about how to change minds are not found in the federal government. They live in political campaigns, think tanks, advocacy groups, academia, and yes — Hollywood and the media. If you want to change people’s thinking, that’s where you go to find the men and women who can do it.

Julius Caesar went to Pontus (now Turkey) in 47 B.C. to make war on the king, and proclaimed “I came, I saw, I conquered.” President Trump went to Washington to make war on ISIS and met Albert Einstein.

Like Caesar, Mr. Trump wants to put a quick, decisive end to the barbaric “dirty rats” of ISIS, shorthand for the Islamic State. Unlike Caesar, he has to rely on others to devise a strategy that will kill his enemy. To do that, he’s ordered the Pentagon to come up with a new strategy.

It’s undeniably true that the United States needs a new approach to defeat ISIS. While President Obama issued press releases about drone attacks against individual ISIS leaders, the organization expanded into 31 countries and carried out or inspired terrorist attacks in Europe, the Middle East and the United States. Mr. Trump has wisely said we need to do something different. That’s where Albert Einstein comes in.
