TRUMP CHOOSES TO FIGHT AT HOME

Monday, October 21st, 2019

THE WALL STREET JOURNAL

Trump Chooses to Fight at Home

The Kurds are not the first foreign ally to be sacrificed to America’s domestic battles.

by Holman W. Jenkins, Jr.    October 19, 2019

The United States abandoned half of Europe to the Soviets, which included abandoning the Free Poles who fought by our side in World War II. We let South Vietnam go down the drain in a fit of Watergate pique. George H.W. Bush called on the Iraqi people to remove Saddam Hussein and then allowed them to be massacred without U.S. assistance. The U.S. set matters right with the 2007 surge in Iraq whereupon President Obama withdrew the troops and let the place fall apart again. Mr. Obama also assured Syrian oppositionists that the U.S. would respond militarily if Bashar Assad used chemical weapons and then didn’t.

It would be nice if the U.S. could provide steady, wise and endlessly resourceful leadership. It would be nice if each of us, in our own lives, could be everywhere and do everything. That’s not life.

Lots of people think they know everything they need to know about Donald Trump’s withdrawal of U.S. forces from a corner of Syria by who made the decision. It was impulsive, shameful, self-serving and wrong, because it was made by Mr. Trump. But even a man who pays little attention to his briefings would have heard by now that the U.S. position presented an untenable dilemma.

Turkey is an Article 5 NATO ally.We have obliged Ankara for two decades by designating its Kurdish separatists as terrorists. The U.S. has never advocated breaking up Syria (or Iraq, Iran or Turkey) to allow a Kurdish state. U.S. support for an autonomous Kurdish enclave in Iraq was dependent on the Kurds’ recognizing Baghdad’s sovereignty and not using Iraqi Kurdistan as a base to subvert neighboring states.

We talk loosely about U.S. troops being a tripwire, but we don’t actually leave soldiers vulnerable to being run over by a hostile force. If Turkey threatens to invade northern Syria, the U.S either has to remove its troops or back them up with enough force to protect them from the Turks.

THE FOREVER WARS OF THE MIDDLE EAST

Sunday, October 13th, 2019

Controversy is swirling throughout Washington on President Trump’s decision to withdraw a small number of U.S. Troops from the Turkish/Syrian border.  The commentary below will give you some idea just how complicated the controversy  of the entire Middle East is.  Many Americans are tired of hearing about the constant fighting that has been going on in the Middle East for eons.    You be the judge on what you think our American policy should be.

MY CORNER by Boyd Cathey

President Trump Is Right On Syria!

The unified foreign policy establishment in Washington, the Deep State politicos—from Lindsey Graham and Lynne Cheney in Congress, to the frenzied Never Trumpers like Peggy Noonan in The Wall Street Journal, [“he’s (Trump) all impulse, blithely operating out of his depth”], to the near totality of the progressivist Left (e.g. Chuck Schumer, Diane Feinstein, and others), have come together (as they always will) to protect their sacred commitment to globalism and, this time, in fanatical opposition to President Trump’s decision to finally withdraw American support troops from northeastern Syria.

TURKEY FLOODING EUROPE WITH MIGRANTS

Turkey Flooding Europe with Migrants

  • The Greek government has said that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan personally controls the migration flows to Greece and turns them on and off to extract more money and other political concessions from the European Union. In recent months, the Turkish government has repeatedly threatened to open the floodgates of mass migration to Greece, and, by extension, to the rest of Europe.
  • “If they [the European Union] do not give us the necessary support in this struggle, then we will not be able to stop the 3.5 million refugees from Syria and another two million people who will reach our borders from Idlib.” — Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
  • “If we open the floodgates, no European government will be able to survive for more than six months. We advise them not to try our patience.” — Turkish Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu.
  • More than six million migrants are believed to be waiting in countries around the Mediterranean to cross into Europe, according to a classified German government report leaked to the newspaper Bild…More than three million others are waiting in Turkey.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and other members of his government have repeatedly threatened to flood Europe with migrants. On September 5, Erdoğan said that Turkey plans to repatriate one million Syrian migrants to a “safe zone” in northern Syria and threatened to reopen the route for migrants into Europe if he does not receive adequate international support for the plan: “This either happens or otherwise we will have to open the gates.” Pictured: Erdoğan speaks at the UN on September 24, 2019. KHASHOGGIMANIA AND OUR ISLAMIST COLLUDING MEDIA

KHASHOGGIMANIA AND OUR ISLAMIST COLLUDING MEDIA

After Egypt, Libya and Syria, will we stop falling for the same lies?

Daniel Greenfield

In 2014, Jason Rezaian, the Washington Post’s Tehran Bureau Chief, was arrested and spent two years in prison. Iran kept him in one of its worst prisons, he slept on a damp concrete floor, was denied medical treatment, experienced hallucinations due to sleep deprivation and was abused by his captors. His wife was told that her legs would be cut off and her husband would be thrown off a cliff if she didn’t confess.

While Jamal Khashoggi has often been misidentified as a Washington Post journalist, all he did for the radical leftist paper owned by Amazon’s CEO is write editorials promoting the Muslim Brotherhood agenda. The Muslim Brotherhood leader and former Bin Laden pal was never a journalist. The closest he came to it was acting as a terrorist propagandist in Afghanistan, glamorizing Osama bin Laden, on behalf of a man listed by the Treasury Department as one of “the world’s foremost terrorist financiers.”

And yet the arrest and abuse of Jason Rezaian didn’t touch off a fraction of the outrage from his own paper as the possible death of Jamal Khashoggi at the hands of the Saudis. The media went through the usual formal protests, but the outrage was muted and there was no talk of sanctions. Instead, Rezaian, along with some other hostages, was illegally ransomed after two years by Obama for $400 million.

The media did not vigorously campaign to break off relations with Iran, as it now is with Saudi Arabia.

GUN CONTROL – TAKING A SECOND LOOK

Monday, March 26th, 2018

The historical facts (see below)  regarding  what can  happen when  the people can no longer defend themselves against tyrannical governments should be impressed on the students who are marching in protest for more gun control.   Nancy
 THE WASHINGTON TIMES
TAKING A SECOND LOOK
BY NATE BROGIN   March 4, 2018

EXCERPT FROM THIS ARTICLE:

Guns have a long history of debate in both the U.S. and elsewhere and remain a flash point in the minds of many maybe because they are the image of a basic weapon of war and personal defense. Guns have been the employed tool of some, yet the lack of guns exacerbates exposure to violence.

In 2014 Australia, all “registered” guns were outlawed and turned in. In 2015, Ed Chenel, a police chief in that country, confirmed that criminal armed robbery increased by a whopping 40 percent. Homicides in the State of Victoria alone are up 300 percent. You know why.

Acting on mostly the emotions of blame, history memorialized:

In 1938, Germany established gun control. By 1945, 13 million Jews and others were exterminated.

In 1929, the USSR established gun control. By 1953, about 20 million dissidents were terminated.

In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, were neutralized.

In 1935, China established gun control. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political voices of a different opinion, were eliminated.

In 1970, Uganda established gun control. By 1979, 300,000 Christians, became unaccounted for.

Accept this fact of reality — armed people will never willingly load themselves into railroad boxcars.
