Condemned To Repeat History

Posted By Michael Youssef On 8:46 PM 03/16/2017 In |

EXCERPT FROM THIS ARTICLE:  Islam didn’t spread the way Christianity spread — by free-will evangelistic appeal. Islam spread by the sword. It advanced as Islamic warriors conquered the Middle East, North Africa, and parts of Europe. The history of Islam is a history of bloody struggle.

In June 2016, the Presbyterian Church USA held its 222nd General Assembly in Portland, Oregon. A Muslim community leader gave the invocation, praying, “Lead us on the straight path — the path of all the prophets: Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad.”

This prayer was drawn from the Fatihah, the opening chapter of the Koran: “Show us the straight path, the path of those whom Thou hast favoured; Not the [path] of those who earn Thine anger nor of those who go astray.”

Muslims understand “those who earn Thine anger” to be the Jews and “those who go astray” to be Christians. The Presbyterians thought this was a prayer for interfaith understanding, but it was actually a veiled insult to the Christian audience.

Now, I draw a clear distinction between most Muslims and the radicalized, political Muslims known as Islamists. I was born in the Middle East, and I have many dear friends and acquaintances who embrace Islam. I don’t want anyone to misunderstand my genuine affection and appreciation for Muslim people.

But we need to understand the history of the Islamist movement. Islam was founded in the seventh century by Muhammad with a goal of an Islamic world empire. Islam expanded rapidly under Umar ibn al-Khattab, Muhammad’s chief disciple and the second caliph. Umar conquered most of the Byzantine Empire and all of Persia within a few years.

IRAN’S MODERATE VIOLENT EXTREMISTS ?

Wednesday, February 8th, 2017

Exactly who are these “moderates” that the Obama Administration was reaching out to in order to negotiate the Iran Nuclear Deal?    Rafsanjani, who recently died, was supposedly one of these influential   Iranian moderates .  This article looks at the true nature of Rafsanjani and it isn’t pretty !
For those of you who live in the North Carolina Triangle, mark your calendars to hear Fred Fleitz,, Senior VP for the Center For Security Policy,  speak on  Iran and the nuclear deal at  ICON on October 17, 2017.

Defining violent extremism down

There are Iranian moderates, but Rafsanjai was not among them

 – – Tuesday, January 17, 2017

Death, where is thy sting? For Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, it certainly didn’t come from the mainstream media.

The 82-year-old former Iranian president died of a heart attack earlier this month. The New York Times called him an “influential voice against hard-liners” and “a main voice in Iran calling for outreach to the West.” The Los Angeles Times said he had been “one of the most powerful allies of moderates in Tehran.” National Public Radio praised him as “a leading voice for reform.” The news section of The Wall Street Journal agreed that he was a “leading voice among moderate politicians.”

On what basis? Ayatollah Rafsanjani was a revolutionary, one of the founders of a state in which all power is exercised by a religious elite whose reading of Shia Islam is unswervingly bellicose; a regime implacably hostile to America, Israel and the liberal world order; one that has murdered, tortured and persecuted thousands of political opponents as well as those deemed blasphemers, apostates and heretics.

There’s more. My colleague, Benham Ben Taleblu, a senior Iran analyst at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD), writes that when Rafsanjani was president in the 1990s, “Iran’s foreign assassination teams ran rampant in Europe, eliminating anti-regime artists, human rights activists, and political dissidents. Under his watch, Iran established itself in Latin America, working with Hezbollah to bomb the Israeli embassy in Argentina in 1992 and a Jewish cultural center in that country’s capital in 1994, which together killed over 100 people.”

In other words, Rafsanjani was a funder and commander of terrorism — or what President Obama has preferred to call “violent extremism.” Are we now to believe there are moderate violent extremists?

THE SECRET MISSION TO DESTROY THE SYRIAN NUCLEAR REACTOR

Saturday, December 31st, 2016

Ex-CIA director: I was sure if we didn’t strike Syria’s nuclear reactor, Israel would
Gen. Michael Hayden provides an inside look into the attack that stopped Assad’s nuclear ambitions in their tracks. From that fateful moment when Meir Dagan entered his office with photos of the reactor, through the clash between the Mossad director and the CIA’s analysts, who feared an all-out-war with Syria, to the secret meeting at Bush’s residence in which Hayden announced: ‘Mr. President, the Syrians are building a nuclear reactor, and it is part of a weapons program.’

FIDEL CASTRO’S COMMUNIST UTOPIA

Fidel Castro’s Communist Utopia

Fidel Castro’s legacy of 57 years in power is best understood by the fates of two groups of his countrymen—those who remained in Cuba and suffered impoverishment and dictatorship, and those who were lucky or brave enough to flee to America to make their way in freedom. No progressive nostalgia after his death Friday at age 90 should disguise this murderous and tragic record.

Castro took power on New Year’s Day in 1959 serenaded by the Western media for toppling dictator Fulgencio Batista and promising democracy. He soon revealed that his goal was to impose Communist rule. He exiled clergy, took over Catholic schools and expropriated businesses. Firing squads and dungeons eliminated rivals and dissenters.

The terror produced a mass exodus. An April 1961 attempt by the CIA and a small force of expatriate Cubans to overthrow Castro was crushed at the Bay of Pigs in a fiasco for the Kennedy Administration. Castro aligned himself with the Soviet Union, and their 1962 attempt to establish a Soviet missile base on Cuba nearly led to nuclear war. The crisis was averted after President Kennedy sent warships to intercept the missiles, but the Soviets extracted a U.S. promise not to invade Cuba again.

FUNDAMENTALIST ISLAM HAS DECLARED WAR ON THE WORLD

Sunday, November 20th, 2016

JUSTICE AMERICA

EXCERPT FROM THIS ARTICLE:   The problem is worldwide and growing by the day. The thinking that defeating ISIS will resolve the issue is naive. ISIS Is merely the “flavor of the day.” Yesterday (and perhaps again tomorrow) it was al Qaeda. Before that, it was Islamic Jihad. The Muslim Brotherhood and its ally Hamas dates to the thirties and is stronger now than ever. Boko Haram in Africa and Abu Sayef in the Philipines remind us the problem is not restricted to any particular region. Fundamentalist Islam is a world power and it has declared war on the world.

There were many losers in the election. Hillary would seem to be the biggest but in the great scheme of things she is not. She may turn out to be a bit player, after all.

The Democrats and liberals, in general, were set back exponentially and now control less of the government than at any time since the 1920s or perhaps even in the history of their party founded in 1828. They lost not only the Presidency, The House, and the Senate but will soon see the Supreme Court transformed into a bastion of Constitutionalism for at least a generation to come. The GOP will hold governorships in 33 states, the most in nearly a century. Some are predicting the end of a liberalism that threatened the very nature of the Republic. It may take decades to realize the full impact of what has happened, but America has been put back on the “right” path after decades sliding into a moral and economic abyss.

The Media lost “bigly”, especially CNN and the New York Times as did many others who did all within their power to  ensure Trump never entered the White House. They are now hoping they will see the inside of the White House in days to come.
